Red Dead Redemption Legends and Killers DLC

by Brent Roberts

Recently released for Red Dead Redemption as a follow up DLC to their free Outlaws to the End, Rockstar brings to the Xbox 360 the new Legends and Killers pack. This new DLC is priced at 800 Microsoft Points, but the real question is if it's worth the price. Well we here at XboxAddict have had the chance to become the riders on the storm and take a look at this in detail, so saddle up and grab your peacemaker because we're hitting the trail of the new Legend and Killers pack for Red Dead Redemption.

With this new Legends and Killers pack, you will be treated to a massive new addition to the multiplayer side of the game. In this new DLC, Rockstar has added:  Nine new multiplayer maps (which are areas of the current existing map, but converted into a multiplayer game type), The Tomahawk, eight new character models (which are classic characters from Red Dead Revolver), and new achievements as well (200 gamerscore points in total).

As mentioned earlier the levels of this new Red Dead Redemption DLC are taken from areas of the current map. Some of these areas that you will face off in are: Rio Bravo, Fort Mercer, Blackwater, Thieves Landing, and more. All these areas have had a Rockstar touch-up which include the addition of more cover objects as well as environmental factors such as lightning storms and more.  Another great addition to Red Dead Redemption is the Tomahawk. It can be used as an up-close melee weapon, however, its real danger is when its thrown. One of the new achievements in the Legends and Killers pack is to take out a target from over 35 yards with the Tomahawk (Hail Mary) and let me tell you that is one satisfying achievement to get. Another achievement for the Tomahawk that is included in the DLC is completing all the Tomahawk weapon challenges in single player, and let me tell you that it's not easy, but oh so fun to do.

In the Legends and Killers pack you will be treated to eight new character models resurrected from Red Dead Revolver. Some of the classic characters that return are: Red Harlow, Pig Josh, Shadow Wolf, Jack Swift and more. Earlier we mentioned some new achievements, and there are two that involve the new character models. You will have to get your boom stick ready because you will need to rack up 25 dynamite kills with Pig Josh (Reeeeal Good), and you will need to steady your aim so you can score 25 dead eye kills with Red Harlow (Original Gunslinger).

Legends and Killers has a lot to offer for only 800 points, and if you enjoy the multiplayer aspect of Red Dead Redemption then it's an almost automatic buy. With new levels, achievements, characters, and the addition of the Tomahawk, Rockstar games shows once again why they own the old west. Now dust off your hat and get ready  because it's time to ride into the west with the Legends and Killers DLC.
