What was your first gaming experience?
My first gaming experience was playing "Commander Keen" on my uncles' computer. It was amazing to me; I had never experienced anything like gaming...it was like reading a book, only I could determine the book's outcome with my trusty pogo stick and laser gun.
What was your best gaming experience?
Super Nintendo, hands down. I remember getting mine for Christmas as a little kid, I was so excited. It was that age when you could really let your imagination roam, combining that with some excellent games such as "Megaman X," "Super Mario World," and many others. Gaming will forever be one of my favorite hobbies, it is part of my generation, and in some ways, it's a part of me.
What was your worst gaming experience?
My worst experiences hands down have to be every Halo Party I've gone to. These parties will be the downfall of me, I am completely addicted, and the irony of it all, is that I don't even own an Xbox, I just bought a controller a copy of Halo 1, and a LAN hub and I keep it all in my car's dashboard just in case.
What is your favorite gaming moment? (Example: Surprise ending, secret character, etc…):
I think the most "sucked in" I ever got was playing "Final Fantasy Seven," and being surprised by a certain character's death by the hands of Sephiroth. I was shocked, to say the least, and I don't think at any other moment in my gaming history have I actually felt emotion over a video game.
What is your favorite gaming genre?
First Person Shooters since "Wolfenstein 3D" and "Doom" have always captivated me. Maybe it's the violence, the "little boy with army men" mentality I've always had...I think there is a little of that in every boy and I suppose I just can't let that go.
Who is your favorite gaming character?
My favorite character of all time would have to be Cloud from "Final Fantasy Seven." Cloud is the perfect example of a "Byronic" character from the Romantic period of writing two hundred years ago. He is the antihero, with deep moods, dark secrets, and a genuine need for the search of self discovery and the battle for social change; that in itself is the definition of a Romanticist.
