I would say it is for real. They have been talking about it for awhile. The price cut for the Xbox won't happen soon though, maybe in June but probably before the holiday season.

This is good news anyway. This is why I'm glad we have three major console makers. It creates competition. Competition leads to better prices. Do you think Sony would even think of cutting prices on the PS2 if it wasn't for MS stealing some thunder? Not likely. Look at the PS1. It is still a $100.
