Maybe I'm retarted, but I keep seening E3 referred to in articles all the time. What exactly is E3? The last article I saw it in was the "President of Microsoft Resigns" from Thursday, April 4th, 2002. Thanks........

E3 is a huge game convention held in L.A i believe.
All console giants treat it very seriously and always anounce new games and plans for their consoles, its on the 22nd of may and microsoft will anounce there offical online plans in full.

SkoalMint's link will tell you all you need to know about the biggest day in gaming every year,... well... actually the biggest weekend.

This is whe nall the major game developers reveal all their secret weapons for the coming year.
I always get very excited about this time myself.
But the thing about E3 is it does not matter if you have the best show because that does not promise massive financial results.
try asking my favorite company in the world Sega about this.
In 1999 & 2000 they were the best of show and look what happend to my beloved Dreamcast!:(

Anyways, this is the most exciting time to be a gamer.:)
