Are you seriously planning on networking 8 computers together? If its just for boxes (someone can correct me if I'm wrong, since I dont mess with XBconnect or anything like that) isn't 4 the maximum number of boxes you can hook up? Just curious, as going with a cheaper 4 port ethernet hub might be more ideal. And the hub will have one port listed as going to the internet. Usually the first port.

Hey Mtbaird.., every hub should have an uplink port.. that is where you'll connect your broadband modem. After that you need some CAT5 cables (crossover cables) to connect to whatever you want to share your internet connection too. So 1 for your xbox, 1 for your computer, and then the rest are all up to you.. more computers for a home network or some friends xbox's. That hub will work, but as KraftSLU said, you might be able to find a cheaper 4-port hub if you aren't going to require that many hookups.

That will work, however, like KraftSLU stated, it may end up being an overkill unless you plan on networking 8 computers or something in the future.

If you are only using it for XBox, I recommend getting a 4-port HUB. Just make sure it's 10/100 and that's all you really need. In fact, it will, most likely, be less expensive, too :)
