Ok first in the button that says options, (in xbconnect), has it found your Xbox? If not search for it in there,
Does your router come with a firewall, if so disable outgoing ports. Are u playing the correct TV type i.e. NTSC will not work with PALL…..
And make sure u have the correct network cable…straight through rj45
Hope this helps

Read your routers manual to see if it has a built in firewall, if not then thats not the problem.

have u got the right type of network cable?

also if u have NTSC type TV make sure it says that on the server type in xbconnect...

Im saying if your router has a firewall then u need to read the manual......it will tell u in there, or at least let us know what router it is. if your using a firewall application then u will need to let us know what application it is so i can help u further....

also NTCS stands for National Television Standards Committee

I had the same problems u had at first, then I called tech support (1-800-326-7114) and asked them how to forward the port 8602 (the port needed for XBconnect). I can't remember the exact steps they gave me, so you'll have to call and ask them yourself. Hope it helps:)

I strongly recommend getting a HUB and getting on-line! Yes, Microsoft will launch the on-line network this summer, but, playing Halo and other games on-line is so sweet! A basic 4 port 10/100 HUB doesn't cost much...you can get one for about $15 or so.

If you decide to play a LAN game (System Link) with more than two XBoxes, you'll need it anyway. Also, with the HUB, you can connect computers and stuff for the future if you like. It's an all around nice peice of hardware to own.

By the way, I'm a networking novice, and even I got this thing going! It's my favorite thing to do! Playing Halo on-line!!! WOO HOOOO!!!

Hi again
Ok first u don’t need to disable your dhcp settings, as its this what broadcasts your ip address from your router to your computer, in other words this it what gives your pc an internal IP.

Does your router use a web page for its GUI? If so use its default ip to get to it. For example mine is 192.168.0.1…this is an internal ip, and your router may use the same thing..

So u need to know how u accesses the routers built in software. If u find that out I could have it sorted for u in a few minutes
:D
