Hi

I am thinking of upgrading my net connection for Xboxonline
im currently on:

512/256kpps

Because Im in the UK nearly all our Isp's dont go over 256kbps upstream but go up to 2000 downstream if I upgrade to:

2000/256 how would that increase my online playability ?
Also would I be able to host games without causing lag ?

Thanks in Advance

If you can get a cable modem that is the fastest. It is usually between 1MG & 2MG/sec

thx for the reply

I just needed to know the max upstream i can get is 256kbps for any connection even with 2000kbps. Does upstream matter that much ?

Thx

With the servers that MS is planning on setting up you probably won't even need 2MB down or 256K up, however, upstream bandwidth is what matters as of now to host games on gamespy. If you don't have a ton of upstream bandwidth then hosting isn't worth trying.

I would just keep what you have and wait to see how it runs on MS's network when it goes live, then if you need to upgrade go for it.

Go to the site (fileplanet.com) and look around/search for something that can speed your pc up. Don't get much simpler then that.:)
