Xbox VGA Box (480p)
Digital-X presents the X-VGA Box, using the 480p Progressive Output for perfect picture quality.

1. Hardware
The XVGA Box is similair to the well known Dreamcast VGA Box. Connectors: 1x XBox, 1x SubD (VGA), 1x Analog Audio (Stereo), 1 x optical Digital TosLink.

2. Usage
The PAL XBox automatically recognizes the X-VGA Box and games start directly in 480p. The main Dashboard will not be visible, since it is not VGA compatible. Therefore, standard adjustments have to be made via a conventional Video cable. However this is no big problem, since once made, all adjustments are stored in the XBox, even without power supply.
The US XBox does output the dashboard in 15kHz on Monitors, which are capable of displaying 480i signals.
With the US Box, the 480p mode has to be enabled once in the dashboard in order to use the X-VGA Box.

3. Gamesupport
VGA support depends on the games. At the moment, nearly all released games support the VGA mode. We will provide a list of all compatible games soon.
In the US, 99% of all games support 480p / VGA, since it is part of the official HDTV standard of the XBox.

4. 16:9 Mode
Some american games like Dead or Alive 3, Azurik or Nascar Heat even support 16:9 VGA. When using a 16:9 Monitor/Projector/VGA-Television, you can enjoy widescreen VGA !
Unfortunately, the PAL Machine does NOT support 16:9 VGA at all.

5. Difference to other VGA Boxes:
Other available VGA Boxes like the Redant VGA Box for example do not take advantage of the 480p signal of the X-Box. These devices just convert the normal S-Video signal to VGA (simple linedoubling). This results in a poor picture quality compared to real 480p.

6. USA / PAL Versions:
When ordering, please define if you are using a PAL or US machine.

7. Compatible Monitors:
Monitors have to be able to work with an RGB S or RGB C/V signal. Most monitors do this. However the high number of different models makes it impossible for us to test every single brand. We give a money back warranty if your monitor is not compatible.

8. Orders
Price : € 89.- + individual shipping rate.
International orders please contact us via email: info@digital-x.de .

XBC - new network code!
Ink and I successfully tested the new network code last night. Stats showed:
Client upload bandwidth required decreased 8%
Server upload bandwidth required decreased 10%

I still want another percent or two before release. The software will be backward compatible with older versions as well (although bandwidth required will be greater).

Which brings me to my next update, Soon you will be required to upgrade to the newest software. List servers will not allow older clients to connect. I expect this change to go into effect around the first of May.

P.S. Thanks Spaz for the help also.

SWEET!

ALSO:

Integrated chat in XBConnect is almost complete. You can see it action here. Other new features include AutoRefresh, ban, and much improved network code. Scheduled for release: "When its done"

I think it would be nice if XenGen did a review of this program, so it can get alot of attention, many use GS still, would be nice if more started using XBC
"I cant get the d@amn thing to work on my system but I know alot of you use it so a little info on it would help you I am sure."
