New Surround Sound System

I just got my new surround sound dolby digital system and recever. I was wandering why on my HDTV cables it has a slot for a digital output and where i can get one of the cables to fit in it? I really want to get the uout of my new sound system an i have everything except the cable for the slot on my HDTV pack.

What you need is a Toslink Optical cable. Best Buy, Circuit City, Kmart, Walmart, Target, etc sell them. This will connect to your HD A/V pack on the Xbox and go to a free Optical In on your reciever. To varify that you have one, check the back and look for a port labled Optical In. They usually have a square black cap over the plug.

As for which cable to get I personally would hit up Target and get their RCA brand I believe. $12 for a 6' cable which costs $25-40 elsewhere and it is just as good.

Also when you get everything hooked up, go into your Xbox dashboard and change the sound settings to support DD and DTS and settings to Surround.
