Online Play in Canada?

I'm an X box newbie and I was wondering if That whole X-Box Live thing is going to be available in Canada. I was also wondering if you need X box Live to play online or is there like some kind of TCP/IP setup you can use to directly host or join games. Do only certain games support this....or...what??? Someone please help a poor fool like me out!

yep their supporting north america so canadas included so long as you got a high speed connection as for the other things i don't know i don't think they've confimered anything as yet
