as Huckleberry stated, I'll be there with Bloodshot. It'll be our first E3 event, and we absolutely cannot wait to go. Maximus, you said you had the money to go, so why don't you buy a ticket online? That's what my buddy Bloodshot did. Fortunately, I'm getting in for free thanks to a buddy of mine that works at a particular videogame magazine. But, if you're willing to shell out $250 and airfare/hotel, you should. It's gonna be a blast...worth every penny!

Stiffy! I had no idea that you can actually purchase a ticket on-line! I thought that people had to have an exclusive invitation or something. I was going to go because I have a friend that knows the President of Digipen, a reknown game developer college in Redmond, WA. But, my friend couldn't afford to go so the entire thing fell through. So, essentially, because he can't go, I lost the opportunity. :(
I really wish I would have known that I could purchase tickets on-line!! It's probably too late now for me, though. I would have to take off the time from work and give proper notice. But, thanks to people like you that are going and will take some pictures and stuff. I'll make sure I can get into next year's event from the experiences I learned about this one.
Thanks for the info and I wish you the best of times!!! :)

im guessing that this was originally posted in the gd forum and one of the mods moved it here
Old thread, but I just wanted to clear this up..
E3 is NOT open to the public. You could buy a plane ticket, and get a hotel room, but you wouldnt get through the front doors to the event.
Xboxaddict staff members are attending with press passes, and are considered "industry personel", so that is why they can attend.
BTW, I had a ticket, but couldnt get time off of work. Grrrr!

You're partly right. You couldn't enter E3 if you just bought a plane ticket and hotel room...that is unless you bought a pass online at the official E3 site like my buddy did. He literally went online, bought the $250 pass, and was confirmed registration last week. He even called the customer service hotline, and the rep said that all he has to do is sign in via their on-site computer registry, show a valid ID such as a driver's license, and *poof*, he's in. The buddy I got my pass from has been going for the past two years. He gets the free passes since he works at the Staples Center. He does the same thing...walks up, registers via computer, flashes an ID, and he's in.
