optical cable

Just curious...is anyone using the optical cable from monster? If so, do you need to use the optical adapter or just the cable? thx!

Well, I have the Monster 400 series Component video cables going to my HDTV, however, I don't have a surround sound stereo yet, therefore, no receiver. But, once I do, I will pick one up. To my knowledge, if you own Monster video cables, I believe you are requred to purchase the Optical cable if you want optical audio and you can't replace it with a standard optical cable. I didn't realize this until after I bought them...but, oh well...

It may be more expensive to buy the Monster optical cable, but, atleast it will sound great once it's utilized :)
