I have been playing XBCONEct for awhile now but I cannot host a game. I have excellent ping and would like to. Now the thing is when I play, I am playing through my port 6700, do I need to forward port 8602 in order to host? Or was this a dumb question. I have tried hosting and waiting for other xbox's but my traffic light just blinks and nothing else happens. Any Help would be very appreciated! Thanks.

yes i belive that 8602 must be open for hosting. .
also u should try hosting a game and asking someone in the Lobby if they can see your game

Ill try that tonight
I just thought since port 6700 was working I didnt want to keep messing with my router settings.

if ya got DMZ try that for the comp running XBC might be easier to set up. . . i accually have both the DMZ and prot triggering set on the 8602 . . . u could also test your up and down speeds at this link (http://www.pcpitstop.com) they also have patches to improve your speeds but mack sure u save ur registry first dont wanta F that up

Just forward the 8602 UDP port in your port forwarding option screen...If you use your Linksys router, has far as i know you cannot disable the NAT firewall....
I have the same router I can host and join games with no problem....

Go to the site 192.168.1.1 and click advanced and then dmz host and put in your ip address.

Correct ports isn't the only problem. Remember to check what TV formats u use. (PAL or NTSC)
If u use NTSC only people with NTSC TV's r able to join your game.
This info is visible in XBC.

I have the linksys 4port router with the newest firmware 1.42 if you have this you must first go to
192.168.1.1
when you are in click "advanced"
then click the forwarding tab: in here you must type in 8602 and then in the ip type in 192.168.1.100 and enable it.
now you must go to the bottom where it says "PORT TRIGGERING"
and in the first row type 8602 across the board without doing this your setup may not work.
I dont recommend touching your "DMZ" because it opens you up to the world, but it may be necessary however I did not open it and it works fine.
I am actually running through winroute and can host games with no lag.
Remember I have the newest firmware for this product and some may have older firmware! If you have the older firmware that does not show the port triggering button you can stop after the forwarding section of this post.
