System link cable [Archive] - Xbox Addict Asylum

Im using a linksys hub and have everything set up correctly, but the hub will not recognise the system link cable which runs from the hub to the xbox. Any ideas?

need a regular cat 5 cable the xbox link cable is a crossover cable that wont work if you need to see the whole setup take a look at the xbconnect site then click the networking link

There r 2 sorts of cables: straight (RJ-45) or crossover cables. If your hub has a MDI/X switch (normally a small button on the back)put it in MDI mode and u can use RJ-45's all the way, which is nice cos thats the most common network cables. If your hub doesnt have that switch, use crossover from ur modem to ur hub and then RJ-45's between hub and PC and between hub and XBOX.
