It definitely looks sweet, but I doubt anything using this engine would run on Xbox.

From what I heard, the Doom 3 engine was pulling framerates of about 5fps on a top of the line GeForce 3. Of course, it's not a finished engine yet, so hopefully that number increases tenfold; and then appears on the Xbox! It should appear on PS2 also, just so PS2 fans realize how incapable their system is! HA!

Carmack said that he was making it with a GF3 as the minimum requirements so I think they would have tweaked the engine by now. It should have no problem running 30 frames on the Xbox.

Wow.. those look amazing! Finally a reason to upgrade my vid card from a geforce2, unless of course it does come out to Xbox!

I also recall carmack saying he was excited to bring this to the xbox, being the only console that could do it right.

I remember that guy DOOM, and from what I think I heard from him, the game was originally supposed to be running at 60FPS.

those graphics are soooo awesome. i wonder if thats using 100% of the xbox's capabilities? cause someone said that it was running on a top of the line gf3, and only at 5 fps. but anyway, those graphics blow doa3 out of the water. this game looks so sweet. i cant wait to see the bfg-9000 in action! hooyea! lol:D

WOW! those hi-res pics kick serious arse. This game will be awesome!

One question I have for everyone though: have you ever seen a game where the fingers don't look like claws? I know its hard to not have the pointy or chopped off look because of the inherent nature of polygon modelling, but I always seem to notice the hands on screenshots.. they all look like Kain's claws :)

Remember, we're only talking 640x480 on the XBOX. An S3 Virge could do 30fps at that resolution. Well, not quite, but I think XBOX is up to the challenge of Doom 3. :)

The demo was shown the first time Geforce3 was revealed so I doubt it's anywhere near that bad. The game looked like the screenshots above including great shadows and it run smoothly. That was before the Ti versions.
