I herd that the xbox will be the only next gen system that will have the oppertunity to be upgraded is this true and what would be upgraded

I dont know if its true, but its sure dumb. The Dreamcast was upgradable and they didnt do anything about it. The Genesis was upgradeable (32x, Sega CD) and they all sucked big nuts. And, yeah, its a bad idea in my opinion.

The Xbox is not physically modifyable. The case is welded shut. only 3 ports on the back (TV/Power/Network) PS2 and the Game cube are both upgradeable, both with their Broadband/56k online kits and the ps2 only with a Hard drive. The most popular add-ons have only reached 10% of the owners. The Xbox will be able to be upgraded softwareicly (is that a real word?). and like doom said, a reprogramible gpu.

MS said they won't make it upgradeable as they want to shake their pc image.
