Midway Sports Asylum, the action-sports brand of leading software industry publisher and developer Midway Games Inc., announced today that Freestyle: MetalX, an all-new freestyle motocross game, is in development and scheduled to ship in 2003 for next-generation systems.

Gamers and motocross fanatics take to the air and experience firsthand the extreme thrills and spills of freestyle motocross in Freestyle: MetalX. Featuring challenging game modes, engaging competitions and insane sub-games, players will can-can and rodeo their way into the freestyle motocross record books.

“Freestyle: MetalX unleashes anarchy in motocross, giving you the freedom to do what you want, when you want,” said David Burton, UK marketing director, Midway. “Packed with the most realistic physics, the most advanced stunt system, and a huge variety of daring sub-games, Freestyle: MetalX will add a new dimension to the freestyle motocross scene.”

To add more to the realistic motocross action in Freestyle: MetalX, Midway signed real-life legends of freestyle motocross to appear in the game. Players can ride as their favorite daredevil, choosing from freestyle motocross sensations Clifford “The Flyin’ Hawaiian” Adoptonte, Jeff Tilton, Nate “Destroyer” Adams, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Trevor Vines, “Mad” Mike Jones, Kris “The Rock” Rourke, and Ronnie “Kung Fu” Faisst. With a total of 16 riders, plus gear and unique bike models to choose from, Freestyle: MetalX allows users to customize the ultimate hard-core freestyle motocross experience.
