Were final development kits used to develop Halo?

Curious as it was quite an early game so were they using alpha or beta development kits?

Good question. I know it was being developed for the PC well before the Xbox was even announced. They probably had a decent engine and physics by the time they got the dev kits so they should have had a good amount of time on the actual Xbox hardware. They obviously figured something out. :)

Can't wait to see what they can do on it now.
