Actually jjax it depends on his method of placing his order. When I ordered mine by phone (because I did not want my credit card number on the net at work) the customer service chick said the only wasI could check the statis of my order is over the phone because that is how I placed it.
If he ordered his off of eb's site the he does need to check it online wit hthe order number you recieve once you sumit the final link to have your order placed.:)

I couldn't wait to play this so I upgraded my video card and bought the PC version.

Big mistake.

The graphics are great. The early game is really interesting. Beyond that things go downhill FAST.

The combat system is completely unbalanced. Without trying, you become invincible after about 20-30 hours of playtime. There's too much great equipment lying around. Your skills become phenomenal compared to the monsters in the game (80% of them are geared towards early level play). You start to dread confrontation because it's just a waste of time.

The roleplaying aspects are also lacking. Unless you just want to talk to NPCs and read books all time, it's pointless. Hardly anyone notices when you complete any major quests. Rise to the top of a guild or house, who cares? Save the world, ditto.

Some people call this open ended. I call it a lack of development. Open ended is when you're free to do anything and the world actually changes based upon your choices. In Morrowind, you're free to do anything because nothing you do matters.

Save your money and time. Wait for KOTOR or Project Ego where you may end up getting a game worthy of the prerelease hype.

Wow Mahalan I just basically wrote the same thing in the other thread floating around the top here... I find it kinda lack lustre too in that they don't give you anything for what you do...instead you have to constantly read more and more of the same crud again and again... :(

Its cool for the first few hours because the scripted ideas of the game are interesting. But you soon find out that NOTHING really comes back to haunt you or help you UNLESS you kill someone... I might just cancel my order :(

dude I told all of you guys that this game was going to be like this before they even released the pc version! I am not suprised by this at all, it is in the developers blood to make lack luster games, they are just following there past. I knew a game that claimed over 200 hrs. of gameplay couldn't keep anyone immersed in the game! I will wait till this one hits the bargin bin!

Now hang on... you'll like it A LOT for the first little while... Actually you'll probably think its BRILLIANT. I am just sayin that it dies off because of the lack of impact anything has on anything else. Otherwise you'll think its an amazing game...

Maybe I just got frustrated, who knows....make the decision for yourself. I liked it a lot when I first played it...played it some more...got a little frustrated and annoyed...then stopped because I didnt want to ruin the xbox experience of it...

You'd best quit this... you're making me want the game even more than ever! :D I don't mind searching endlessly for things to do, nor do I mind combat getting really easy. I'm the type that always turns games on at their easiest setting. Too much difficulty makes me extremely frustrated, and I have a very low frustration tolerance when it comes to video games. There's nothing I hate more than having to do the same thing over and over again. At least in Morrowind, you can experiment because of its non-linearity.

The only thing that sucks is that I've had the past week off from work (my boss's dad died) and I have to go back Monday. Saturday is my sister's birthday, so I'm not going to get much time with this game... if they'd only released on Tuesday like a normal game!

Smartass.. :P hehehe Nah I dont have ADD...Like I said I had to stop myself from playing the game so I wouldnt either a) overplay it and not want to play the xbox version(yes its possible, its not THAT open ended) or b) I was just getting bored with the quests I had and started to wander around...which basically ruined the continuity of the game later on. Looking around is kinda cool, but when you go to towns before the story like kinda wants you to? It ruins the other story lines...if that makes sense...kinda like GTA3....you play it for an hour or so, get to mission you dont feel like doing and then kill stuff for another hour...totally wearing the fun factor down, but kinda enjoying it at the same time...

That's what I'd say this is like. That and the two characters I made were ****ing me off :)

So take that Jax of the J ;) hehe And for the others getting excited? Well good, I hope you enjoy the game. I'm not trying to ruin it, as I said you will REALLY like it in the beginning...but it went kinda saugy in milk after a good 20 hours. Which is still pretty sweet none the less...

Now...who wants to touch me....I SAID WHO WANTS TO FACKIN TOUCH ME!

Talk about frustrating... I went to Circuit City today to get a new mouse and decided to ask the people in there about Morrowind. They said there was a manufacturer's delay and it'd be in either the 13th or 14th!!! Guess I'll just have to find somewhere else. Their $39.99 sale is only good until the 10th...

You guys want to know why I started to really dislike the game? After about 30 hours of play (no "powergaming"), my character became invincible. I'd reached the top of two houses and decided to finish out the main quest. Piece of cake.

I continue adventuring seeing places I'd never seen before and everyone's still rude to me. I figure, what the hell??? I'm the leader to two houses (Telvanni and fighters) and I just saved the world. Who are you to talk to me like that? So, I kill him. Now, the guards want me. I figure what the hell, these people should be worshipping me, not trying to throw my butt in jail so I kill them too.

Now, I can't go into a town without guards all over my butt. So, I kill them as well. Out of curiosity, I decided to decimate an entire town. No problem.

My character's level is in its late 30s early 40s and he's already a god. Nothing can stand up to him including entire cities. Did I choose to make him an evil character? No. He just became one because his good deeds did nothing to earn him respect.

Do I enjoy playing this character? No. It's really boring. I can continue the same boring quests (mainly FedEx type tasks), read some 3rd rate books that are part of the game, or play something else. I'll choose the latter.

WOOOO!! I can't wait!!!

Hey there is one review on the front on Morrowind.

http://www.xboxaddict.com/products/released.php?Product_ID=148

Location Purchased: Eb World
Summary
Overall: 5.0
Gameplay: 5.0
Visual: 5.0
Sound: 5.0
Hype: 5
eXcitement: 5

General / Summary: This game is aboutsolutely one of the best games known to man. It is so fun. You can tell its fun because i've been up all night playing it.

Gameplay: Awesome, No doubt about it, this game is superb. The inital fmv, and then gameplay really set up the story for a great rpg.

Visual: WOW! This games graphics are one of a kind. The open world and truly superb graphics make this game the best xbox game i've ever played.

Sound: This game has a truly amazing soundtrack that you can never get tired of. Unfortunately, It is a little short. But that is the criticizing remark i can make.

Suggestions to Developer: None, They've done a perfect job.

How do you figure he has played for over 20 hours already, before the game has shipped?

He posted it on the 4th, meaning he got it sometime on the 3rd. I think that's just BS, unless he is a special case. I could be wrong, it just doesn't seem right.

I never like those reviews on xboxaddict. It usually is a fanboy who just got home with his game, played it for about 10 minutes, is all jazzed, and just has to get online and tell the word what a great game it is.

Of course, 10 hrs of gameplay later, the game lies in the corner as he goes back to playing Halo. :)
