This thread will be useful to help anyone who is in trouble :)

So if you have any infos, hints or tips under your belt about Morrowind quests, share them ;)

First tip for beginners:

Right after you met the guy who make choose your class and all, go by the door on the left and steal everything in that room (especialy silver!) and go see the Captain who give you your duties. Before entering the room where the Captain is, look in the barrel at left of the door, there's a ring, you'll have to give it to Fargoth to have better price at the local shop. DON'T STEAL ANYTHING IN THE CAPTAIN'S ROOM OR ELSE YOU WILL LOOSE EVERYTHING YOU STOLE IN THE PREVIOUS ROOM!

Do all that and you'll have a nice 200$ (less or more, but near heh) to spend on arms and armors!

I think these creatures are called skamps (maybe skimps I donno), they are little devilish-looking monsters I first encountered around Caldera and they are resistant to normal weapons, fire, frost, and shock....How do you defeat these fiendish creatures?!?!? Any help is appreciated.. By the way I love this game and I can't stop playing, yipe! I'm only at level 2 also, ugh.

Need to know something about the 4th quest of the Figthers Guild in Balmora.

How do I get that code book? I found the girl, but if I attack her I have to deal with every body in the tavern (South Corner tavern something like that)

If you have any hints please tell me, thanks!

Certain people in the mages guild can teleport you to the mages guild in a different city for a small fee.

After you get your skills and stuff pretty good, go into a guy's house and kill him. Take his stuff (all of it) and sell it. I got over 2k already just from 2 guys dead.

You can steal from people if they are in a spot where they cannot look at you. If you steal from right behind them, they will catch you because they can always turn around...but if you are behind a door or on the second story...then you will be safe.

I need help picking locks. I picked the lock on a house in Hla Oad. That I had no problem with. Now I have been in Balmora for around 4 hours (non-stop) and can't seem to pick a lock. I have the apprentices lock. It doesn't seem to work on anything.

I am a Dark Elf and a thief. I can sneak around and steal stuff from behind Guards backs and everything but can't open a friggin locked door. I have stolen $13,000 shields from closets about 2 feet away from priests or whatever they were with no problem.

Can someone help me with this? Please?? Do you know where I can get a better Lockpick?? Or where I can improve my lockpicking skills??

I too would like this question answered. However, I can help you with one of yours.

I had to escort this guy to Molag Mar from not far out of Seyda Neen. When I got there I spent several days exploring. There is a temple like place, and in there, there is a water and sewer works. There is also several "hang-outs" for pilgrims and such. In one of these rooms, in the temple, there were new probes and new lock picks. The probe was a quality of 1.0 instead of 0.5 I think, and the lock pick was 1.1 instead of 1.0. I stole them once, and then died, and never got back to them. Oh well, I know they're there though. They were the next level up from apprentice, journyman I think is what they were called. Anyways, search the temples of Molag Mar.

Hope that helps.

I bribed her twice (100 each time) and she gave it to me. You have to have a great disposition with her.

Okay, find a soul gem, and get the spell soul steal (or get a scroll that steals souls). Cast soul steal on a creature (must be touching it). Kill the creature. Now the creature's soul goes into the soul gem. Now, in your inventory choose the soul gem that has the soul in it. You will now be given the option to enchant an item with the soul gem. You can only give an item a spell effect of a spell you already have.

Hope this helps:)

As you increase your weapon skill this should become less and less a factor. Just make sure you use a weapon corresponding to a skill you took! That is if you did choose a weapon skill. If you didn't.. well then you shouldn't be hitting the enemy anyway!

hold down 'Y' and click the left/right trigger untill it says 'MoonShadow' then press the 'Y' button once (if you r in first person view u should see your guy get his hands out to get ready to cast a spell) . . . click the right trigger to cast . . . if u try to steal or pick a lock or someting u might get away with it but u will become visable again

IM a level 3 redguard (healer). and i was on a side quest where i escourted this naked dude to this witch, who pimped him good, where i decided to side with the witch, he kicked my ass.. He had no weapons on him at all and i had a magic sword, and i was armored down. Second, i tried to kill the thief(archer) outside the egg mines(caldera also) and he gave it to me. I then thought to myself," i really need to level up some". How can i gain more experience, or shall i say get tougher, when my character is a pu$$y ass healer. or should i change characters? Also one of my major skills is hand to hand, like im ever gonna use that. somebody please respond.

Get stuff for free!

Get a mark and recall spell. Mark outside the thievs guild where the guy will take the price off your head. Steal anything you want, and immediatley recall out. Go the the 'price on your head' guy, drop your gold ont he ground and pay the money which you dont have to the guy. Free stuff. :)

I have a question for the second quest in the fighters guild, the one where you have to find the Shulk egg mine and egg poachers. Where is the mine located. I swam down the river till I got to the draw bridge and went left to look. All I found was a cave and a mine with a bunch of workers and a queen in it. Where can I find this place and what do I have to do?? Thanks :)

:) Its not far away and you don't have to swim...

1. You get out of Bolmora where the strider at....
2. let the river on you left hand side and keep looking to your right.
3. The best sign for the mine is the 2 men surrounding the fire....
4. pass them to the first door...and thats it...good luck partner...and be sure that you are ready for the third quest...killing the damn 4 in Caldira mine......and you will be a " Journeymen" and the leader of the fighting guild will show you respect after finishing the second quest......well before I forget...the door is after the 2 men that are chillin around the fire.. "Don't forget now":)...I wonder if you have thw sparking sowrd to kill the 2 villins...they are easy to handle but try to steel the dead man outside syda neen....for a free sword or steel something that has magic...why??...because in the 3rd quest for the fighters guild you will be fighting 4 bastards...the first one is a scout..and thats one on one...and the second fight you will be fighting 3 people together...so I suggest to buy the magic robe from the pawnbroker in Caldera plus a good potion and try to get a shield" a magical one that surrounds you" while you deal with those 3 scumbags....try to steel something from the armorer of Balmora...it will help you a lot...

Lockpicking is youre security skill right?
Best way ive found to improve this is:
1) Buy yourself a lock spell. (I bought Fenricks Doorjam (Lock 10pts on touch))
2) Find an unlocked chest, door, whatever. Lock it. Then unlock it with your lockpick.
3) Repeat ;)

Theres an easier way to make some quick cash early on :)
RIGHT after you finish creating your char, grab the papers, then walk over to the shelves. There will be a limeware platter sitting there (650 value). Grab it, then immediately press B to goto your inv. drop the platter on the ground. The guard will come, and warn you not to steal, blah blah, last warning, blah blah. Once he leaves, take the platter from the ground and leave ;)

Now, give the ring back to Fargath (sp?) to get the traders disposition up to, or close to, 100. Trade him the platter for as much as you can. Then buy it back for as little as possible. ReBuy, resell until hes outta cash. Youll have made yourself quite a chunk of cash :)

the ratio stands for cost/chance, so in this case "45/0" is costs 45 magika to cast + u have a 0 chance of casting it. have to get ur skill in the skool of magik for this spell ^

I've been reading the thread since I did'nt check it after I created it and it seems like our friend monkeyman had some troubles with the game ;)

Anyway, the best advice I can give to anybody who's playin Morrowind is to get your Alchemy skill very high.
Grab everything you can see and that you can actually eat. Your Alchemy skill will go up fast like hell ;)
and there's great benefits to do with the potion you create: My Alchemy skill is around 55, I have the whole Grand Master alchemy kit (mortar, retort, calcinator and the other one) and each potion I create isn't sold under 100gp :)

I know that the glass armor is the best light armor
the orc armor is the best medium one

Anyway, whats Daedric armor, heavy, light, medium? Where can I get some? I know of a dude in some temple shrine place, forget where, maybe either the redoran or hlaalu canton in vivec...ill try to kill him later because that armor is so evil looking, i want it so bad.

hey, i think that those papers where kinda important, u have to give those to the guy at the begining to get your first mission and join the blades. not too important i guess cause u dont have to take the mission. so it depends on if you want to take the first mission and be part of the blades or not. so to sum all this up u dont need the papers.

Hey, you guys know about the "Dragonbone Cuirass" that is SW of Ebonheart, right? It's off the coast of one of the islands that extend SW from the tip of Ebonheart Peninsula. Just swim or waterwalk on over and off the coast of one of the islands (keep going South or Southwest) you will see an underwater dungeon called "Mudan Grotto". Make sure you have the water breathing spell or similar enchanted item (or are Argonian) and swim on in. The "Dragonbone Cuirass" is way in the back, but you get the key elsewhere in the grotto, because the lock is 100 to get into the vault. The Cuirass is over 200 armour rating.

Question;

Which is a good NPC to sell my Raw Glass, Ebony, Diamonds, Dwarven Cogs to!?
Ive got so much of this sitting in chests, just waiting to be sold, cept i cant find an NPC with enough cash to buy any fair sized ammounts of it. Sofar the best NPC ive found is the Alchemist in Balmora. Shes got like 2400$ on her.
Are there any better NPCs to sell to? Or am i stuck slowly selling to her?

Rat, I just did that quest and you have to go south past all those tiny islands to the mainland and its really far, but you have to walk/swim and it should be marked on your map. You probably didnt notice it cause its so far away from Sadrith Mara.

Anthony, I think its in one of her desks or something upstairs..

I raid raw ebony mines all the time and sell the ebony to the pawnbroker in balmora. She has 700 gold, so I usually sell 3 to her at a time and wait 24 hours, repeat.

A good NPC to sell to is the Creeper in Caldera, he has 5000 drakes, you can teleport to caldera through the mages guild, the creeper is in Ghorak Manor on the second floor

Its marked on your map! Its northeast after you get to the ancestoral tomb which is on the main land.
Also the place your looking for is a dweemer ruin...the person is camping outside and i think she has a fire so that should make it easier

What do they call gold in Morrowind? Drakes, or that other word that starts with an "s"? I have heard both. Which is it?

Also, can someone explain the geography of the region, or point me to a map? What is the relationship between Tarimel, Vvanderfel, and Morrowind? (spellings?) I think it would help me understand the place a little better. Again, a map would help the most. I saw one online once, but I have not been able to find it again.

Thanks!

Drakes and Septims. Either will do. Gold is gold by any other name.

You can find a map at the main Morrowind site (http://www.elderscrolls.com/main.htm). Vvardenfell, I think, is the main island within the nation of Morrowind.

If you want a stronghold, join redoran, if you want some cool stuff, join Telvanni. Ask vamp about the things in Telvanni, cause i am not in it, but i have heard him talk about good benefits. Also, to get back in House Hlaalu all you do is pay 500, which is nothing by the time you are at level 20 or so. It is worth it as well to get back in Hlaalu for discounts on spells and whatnot. (did i just use the word whatnot??? )

when you get to her give her a lot of gold or use speech craft to get her to like you once she gets up to about 75 or so she will prob give it to you. if not just give her more gold eventually she will give it. thats how you can get anything out of anyone if u want it bad enough.

If you have been to the island of Nords " Dagon Fel "...thats the one in the far north east....you will find on it some Dedra Worshipping orcs if you got out of The Town Of Dagon Fel.....when you see the first itersection on your left just go ahead and take it....keep going ahead and take the first right intersection....Boom there you go ....you will see a kind hearted Orc standing by his self....I didn't mess around with him simply because he might be involved in a quest.....but if you passed him and took the first right turn you will meet 3 ruthless Orcs full equiped armor....Note: you have to be very very very strong to beat them...peace......

Yeah you can kill the gaurds it is very easy to kill them once you get to level 20, and if you taunt a guy to attack you first and you kill him you can take his stuff and it isnt a crime you have to unlock something with a lockpick the higher your security level and the better the lockpick the easier to unluck it. And there are a lot of lockpicks in the game they sell them in south wall corner club and in the lucky lockup in balmora

Okay...Go to a trader that has a 100% disposition to you and try to sell a piece that is about 160 or something try to sell it for more than the price it gives you
Than buy it back for less than you sold it for...do this numerous times and you will get money quick and your mercantile rises really quick

Whoopage

yes you can beat the game without going through the long main quest...i did it with like my second or third character...

to do so just play the games side quests and guild quests untill you are a pretty high level character....(i waited till i was 105 or something up there) then go to Vivec and kill Vivec himself....
on his body will be an acient Dwemer artifact....this is wraithguard, but it is not activated yet....

to do so go to Tel Fry...in the corpusarim thinger downstairs is the last living dwarf...(the fat dude with metal legs) ask him about the artifact.....he will tell you he needs two books....and you have to get them for him...they are both inside Red Mountain, in two different ciditels or whaterver they are....go get these two books, bring them back to the dwarf, and he will activate wraithguard for you....but when you put it on for the first time it will lower you health level because you were not trained by Vivec....this is why you want to be a high level character...if you are not it will probably kill you....

then just get Keening and Sunder and take out Dagoth Ur....

there you are...thats the backpath in a nutshell:)

Okay, the deal with stealing: If it was originally on a shelf, and someone sees you pick it up, they'll report you for stealing it. In order to take something on a shelf, or something originally in a box, or something that you haven't personally dropped, you must be seen by no one. I've even heard stories of people putting things in boxes, coming back, and reported when they tried to get those things out of the boxes.

For the most part, though, stealing is really not necessary. Gold is SO EASY to get it's rediculous. However, if you do want to steal something, an easy way is to get a spell or item that casts chameleon with 100 magnitude for a certain length of time. While it is in effect, you can sneak perfectly and steal whatever you want(not on a person, just on shelves, in boxes, etc).

hmm. I don't think it's the vampire effect, but you may try and go into town(save first). If you have become a vampire, the townspeople will either be scared of you, or attack you on sight. If they don't, you may just have a common disease that needs to be treated either with a potion, spell, or at the temple. If it is vampirism, your a little bit screwed.

EDIT:

Yep, it is vampirism. check out the faq:

Dos things. You have to have high speech craft in order to taunt good. But anyway you taunt all the guards in a given room till they attack you. Wait for them to try and attack you first. Then when you attack them it is self defense so it is ok. Then just take the stuff. To get grand master stuff in the lucky lockup in balmora there is a room with them on the table, try and steal them without killing the woman in there, she can train you pretty good. Master in Sneak I believe. Also different bandit caves have them in crates or people are holding them. But that is usually master and journeyman. But I have killed a few thiefs with a grand. Guess it is a luck thing. I have a few cheats which can be viewed at my forum which there is a link to in my sig.

INDEX LOCATIONS
Falensarano
Go to Khuul and go southeast to the shrine Maelkashishi. Enter and

make your way to the forgotten galleries. Levitate up to the very top

ledge and there should be a corpse there. with him a scroll, daedric

longbow, (4) daedric arrows, and the Index for Falensarano. Take them,

I doubt he needs them anymore.
Rotheran
Go to Rotheran. Enter the Communal hut on the roof. The guy in there

has it, umm Rols Ienith. Get it from him, the only way i see it try

pick pocketing him. And if at first you don't succeed, give up and

hack him to tiny pieces. Now take the Index for Rotheran from his

lifeless corspe.
Telasero
Got to Telasero. For this one you must actually enter the stronghold

and go down to the lowest level. Once in the lowest level of the

stronghold check the trough, is should eb in there.
Andasreth
Head over to Hlormaren. The dome has its own entrance, Levitate up to

in if you can, if not you can fight your way up, ha ha. The Index for

Andasreth is on a shelf on the left wall. Its really hard to see, if

you have night eyes, itll make it stand out a little better.
Berandas
Go to Gnisis. Now go to the housewith the rope fence i front of it.

WARNING TO THOSE IN TELVANNI! Do not kill the man at the top of this

house, or his little pets that are in the same room, he doesn't like

that, and you need him to advance to mout, there is no other way.

Well, in that room, look over at the book shelves, the Index for

Berandas is on one of them. Thake a guess.
Valenvaryon
Go to the Urshilaku Ashlander Camp. Go inside the Wise Women's Yurt.

The Index for Valenvaryon should be on the table to her right. Try to

sneak to take it, don't get her mad and don't talk to her unless you

have already done the portion of the Main Quest that involves her.
Falasmaryon
Go to Maar Gan. Go to the house with that rock shrine and the dremora.

Inspect the offerings, the Index for Falasmaryon should be resting

there. Try to sneak to take this one to.
Hlormaren
Go to Caldera. Enter the Pawnbroker's shop/house. The Index for

Hlormaren should be on that window ledge right next to him. This is a

tricky one to get, I advise getting a chameleon spell to help you

sneak this one out.
Indoranyon
Go to Tel Fyr. The Index for Indoranyon should be right inside on the

table next to Divayth Fyr.
Marandus
Go to Vivec St. Olms Temple, lower level. Go through the hall it

willbe in the last room on you right. In there will be some rats. Kill

them if you like. Now this is a lot easier with night eyes. The Index

for Marandus should be right infront of you amoung the crates..

JOINING THE GREAT HOUSES
TELVANNI
Go to Sadrith Mora, if you take a boat you can see the Tevanni Council

House go in there. once your in make a right and follow the passage.

Go through the first door you see. now follow this passage and

continue straight. Do you see that door behind that guy? Go in there,

once inside here be sure you don't fall off. Follow the tiny path to

the bottom and speak with Llunela Hleran. Talk about joining The Great

House Telvanni and your in. You will also come back to see her to get

your stronghold.
HLAALU
Go to Balmora and enter the Hlaalu Council Manor. Talk with the lady

in front of the planter. Her name... Nileno Dorvayn. Talk about

joining the Great House Hlaalu and you in.
REDORAN
Go to Ald'ruhn. Go into the Manor District. head straight to the

opening with three doors, Redoran Council Entrance. Go around the

planter and talk to Neminda. Talk to her about joining the Great House

Redoran and your in.

I would advise joining Telvanni, then killing Orvas Dren at Dren’s

Plantation (west of Peligiad) and talking to Duke Vedam Dren to join

Hlaalu.
When you build one stronghold the other is built for you and it is

still yours, the guy who would be their if you weren't in that house

is gone. You have two strongholds. I would advise doing the Telvanni

quests because as you advance in Telvanni, you just have to talk to

the Duke and hell advance you that high in Hlaalu. (Even though he

says you already Grandmaster, you aren't)

to Dagon Fell, no it's not there you still have more traveling to do.

take the road west, over the rise and to the beach. Cross the river

and take a left the first chance you get, continue west past

Habinbaes. The road should turn south, don't turn with it! Instead go

up the slope westyou should end up at the base of a mushroom tree

eventually, when you do turn northyou should be on the beach and

infront of you is the island go there and kill all the Dremoras and be

sure to take the ring off the golden saint, you need this!!!!!!!

Recall back to the Shrine of Azura, talk to her and she will award you

with Azura's Star

Books in Vivic's Foreign Quarter and buy the book. Sorry, I didn't

write the name of the book down so youll have to remember on this one.

Use recall again to get back to Caldera, go back to him and give him

to his new statue and he will award you with Goldbrand.

distance, well, for me that is. On this Island you will find the

Daedric ruin Yansirramus. Once inside talk to the shrine and set a

Mark. Now go on over to the stronghold take the path heading

northeast. It will turn north at a little Ashlander camp them

eventually turn east. When you pass Bensamsi go southwest. You

shouldn't see the dwemer ruin. If you do you went too far. The path

will soon fork, take the one that goes south (it has some trees

marking the way.) It should go up a slope and to Kora-Dur. You should

have gotten the key from Molag Bal. In its inner most chamber you

should find that lazy Daedroth, hack it to pieces collect some of the

loot, some of it is okay. Then recall back and talk to the Shrine of

Molag Bal to be awarded with the Mace of Molag Bal.

Shrine of Sheogorath

-Vivic St.Delyn sewers

-Spear of Bitter Mercy

--Go to Vivic St Delyn and head way don to the sewage place, below

canalworks. There you should find a door stuck into a wall somewhere

down there. Go in kill the cultists talk to the Shrine and set a Mark

spell. Off you go to Dagon Fel, ask around about "mad herrmit."

Remember that long Island with the daedric ruin Assurdirapal on it,

the one for the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw? go as far west as you can

until you run into Ald Redaynia, it will be gaurded by a skeliton.

Guess what now you don't get to go inside, ha ha. Now go swim,

levitate whatever north-east a little more north though. You will come

across a large island and guess what, if you don't see the shack, just

follow the trail, it leads right to it. Go in and talk to Big Head.

talk about the "Fork of Horripilationand hell tell you to take it. its

the one on the table that look more like a fork. Now your off to kill

the bull netch with IT! you cannot KILL the bull netch with any other

weapon and there are NO second chances. The giant bull netch is

located directly east on another Island. Just go directly east and

youll have no excuse no to find it the netch really stands out. Once

it's dead recall yourself talk to the Shrine of Sheogorath to see that

your fork is now the Spear of Bitter Mercy

bridge. There’s a guy inside wearing it (he’s really easy).

untapped. To reach the mine, leave balmora by its south exit & follow

the north bank of the Odai SW, past the Shulk Egg Mine, to a swinging

rise up before you & you'll see the mine entrance flanked by three

boulders. It's called Vassir-Didanat Mine.
If you talk to certain peoplethey'll give you great rewards
Dram Bero offers a half-dozen Daedric weapons
Velanda Omani will pay 2000 gold

Don't tell Nevena Ules, he talks a good game, but doesn't specify.

The Cuirass is over 200 armour rating.

is the cuirass medium armor?
and how much does it weigh?

It's heavy armour, 100% resist fire, don't know about the weight. Has an AR of 333 if you have your HA skill at 100.

hey did you know that you can get 2 daedric crescents? well heres how you do it:
when youre fighting the lord in the secret daedric place which they say you cant get back to, cast the mark spell anywhere in there, then once you've killed the lord and gotten his spiffy crescent, cast recall and it'll take you back there, now inspecthe lords dusty corpse and you'll see he has another daedric crescent and an amulet to take you back to tel fyr.DO NOT use this amulet the game has a sort of glitch where the screen says "do you want to travel to Tel Fyr" and if you push A or B the yes/no screen doesnt seem to go away. To get out of there simply use an almsivi or divine intervention scroll/amulet/spell.
2 crescents is better than one being able cast paralyze twice as many times.
