Many of you dislike the Crazy Taxi series, but I noticed that few of you still like the series. So I found this hands on at TXB:

The Crazy Taxi franchise has been among the video game industries most popular for the last few years. Sega’s concept of cruising down a city at insane speeds while absolutely destroying the environment has come quite a long way. The latest edition, going under the name of High Roller, is currently in development for the Xbox console from Microsoft. Making money has never seemed so exciting!

Just like the original and sequel, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller is all about delivering a wild experience to the player. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, players take on the roll of a wacky cab driver as they make their way to wealth. The environment is enormous and also gathers the outskirts of the city. Everything from the Grand Canyon to the Hoover Dam have also been incorporated. Old cities from both the original game and its sequel (West Coast and Small Apple) have also been added to this latest edition to the series. Above all changes is the fact that Crazy Taxi 3 is uniquely played during the late night hours.

New characters to choose from include Bixbite, Mrs. Venus, Zax and Angel. It is said that the first ever characters will also be added to the game, certainly a plus for the fans of those. Each of these accessible cabbies has its own unique style, attitude and vehicle, making the game much deeper then seen at first impression.

Articles are everywhere. Throughout missions the player will encounter vast world renowned casinos, landmarks, water fountains as well as tables, umbrellas, newsstands and of course, pedestrians. Part of the new, more mature targetted audience, Sega has added things like skateboarders, boxing legends, bunny suited men, waitresses, athletes and dancers for the player to run into during quests.

A large factor in the game is its shortcuts. They are hidden throughout the city to be found by the player. Another cool feature in Crazy Taxi 3 is the “crazy dash”, a maneuver that gives the player’s cab a super boost. It’s a vital element in becoming successful.

Hitmaker, a division of Sega and the developers of this upcoming title, have also brought back the minigames used in the franchise’s past; both new and enhanced older versions. The minigames include Crazy Football (get on the field and mark record time racing down the 100yrds), Crazy Tornado (drive through a tornado without flying away), Crazy UFO’s (hit the moving targets) and Crazy Logs (hoppidi-hop-hop).

Gamers can expect developers to take full advantage of the Xbox graphical advantages with this title. Looking at the screenshots released to the media thus far, it is safe to say that Crazy Taxi 3 is shaping up nicely, improving time and time again.

Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller is expected to ship on the 23rd of July 2002. Fans of the franchise shouldn’t go without adding this truly promising title to their Xbox libraries. Watch out for this highly anticipated Xbox title!

I'll be buying this game for sure. I loved CT in the arcade and I haven't owned any home version of the game so I'm not sick of it yet.

Crazy Taxi 3 is just a remake of Crazy Taxi 2....Characters are the same....The game style's also the same...All you do is go to a costumer....STop....Go to the destination....STop....Start all over again! I get bored with it already.....

Crazy Taxi...YUCK. You have to hit a different button just to switch between drive and reverse. Graphics are bland, gameplay is a little part taken from GTA3...CT just sucks.
