Lag Problems

I have a T1 connection and when I host games, I get minimal lag. I have been able to host my box and 3 other boxes. I have tested my upload and www.dslreports.com and gotten results of 4538-5819 kbps. When I join some games there I get lag in my game. The people hosting said it was my connection. If so how can I minimize the lag on my end.

when it loading from 00:30 and \/ down let it load and it wont be as laggy thats a tip i heard
