I saw the thread asking if anyone has OXM yet, but I didn't see the usual post that explains what the newest issue is all about. So here you go...

I have yet to read the issue, so I don't know how good any of these articles are. I just wanted to give you guys the heads up.

oxm is a pretty good mag, but their reviews scores are f'n wacked. they gave spy hunter a score comparable to morrowind. i dont trust their reviews at all. the rest of the mag is great, if for nothing else but the demo disk. its a pretty container of screen shots and fluff. just dont believe everything you read in it!

The OXM reviews are not that good, but nothing compared to Gamespots reviews. No xbox games got to the 9's except Halo and Max Payne (wtf) They gave all the rest bad grades.

for about the first 4 days, then i beat it.
i think that it would have been better if it was atleast a two player slpit screen game.

not enough replay value for me. maybe somemore modes would have been nice

I think OXM's reviews are some of the most consistent around. They do screw up on one every now and then but that's life. As far as their current ratings go, if Outlaw Golf is a 7.9 then Morrowind is a 3.5 at best. If you want to know why, read one of my posts in the RPG section (nobody bothered to add a mid or late game to it).

Wreckless is a great game, jut needs free roam and maybe multiplayer to be a smash hit.

8.1 for Morrowind? I think they were playing a different game and accidentally thought it was Morrowind.

Why did OXM rate Oddworld so high, the game is horrible.


Where's the Goddámn Midtown Madness 3 preview promised several issues back?

OXM says they will have things in the mag, and the next issue dosent have it. The one after that dosent even have it. Their reviews are crap for the most part...other than that its a great magazine.

And people are getting the August MAG?

This whole thing with the mag being a month ahead is pretty lame, people have explained it to me before, and it's still just lame!

Also people are getting the next month's mag 2 weeks early

what's up with that? I always get mine the day before the next month.

OXM gave Kabui (sp) Warriors a 5.9. Better than RAW, two sportd games and almost as high as Triple Play and All Star Baseball!

good point motoko but i wouldnt go and say that the review r anything but untrustable . . .

besides MW has a few bugs too . . . . .

Wreckless sucked . . . when u hit another car in real life people get out and scream at u they dont disappear off the face of the earth . . . if they did i would go out in my car now and play Crash Test Dumbies . . .

MNorrowind wasnt the best, the graphics were messed up, like sometimes you got stuck bettween things! It could have been a lo beeter. But Progect Ego, that is going to cruch Morroind!

I got my oxm for august on tuesday. Why do they come so early I guess I don't mind but my subscription will be over sooner. And the price of the subscription is jacked up. I'am definately pleased with the new issue. The bruce luce video is great and the demos are sweet.

I never go by anybody’s opinion but my own, I recommended Halo to a co worker who just purchased xbox and after playing halo he cant figure out what all the hype was about, he now plays Morrowind and is sorry he did'nt buy this first. One mans loss is another mans gain.

Amen to that. Although morrowind is a great game I dont think it deserves more them an 8.7. We must remember that it is the first rpg, so they had nothing on xbox to compare it to. Its probably likely that the ratings of some upcoming rpgs will probably be scored in comparison to morrowind.

yea, but it doesnt really matter. you cant judge a game by its name. this game is supposed to be really awesome. if halo was called "the g@y rainbow", would u still buy it? i would. lol. that was pretty random:D

If they changed the name of Project Ego to Big *** Butt Sex, i'd buy it. Not for the butt sex part, but because it looks like its going to be a great game.

OXM said that morrowind was more of a PC game than a console game. The mag also has a huge special on MGS 2 and of Xbox Live. They also have the best of E3 awards. BC was the top game and Splinter Cell was runner up. Theres also a big special on the football games of 2003.

i got my august OXM today. i don't know why all of you are argueing about that Morrowind. come on, long haul-ass RPG's are just not for me. i cannot play a single game, not beating it for 100 hours or more. i am actually a "slow" gamer, where I make sure to clear everything before moving on. however as for reviews, all i can say is that sometimes OXM's can be a bit strange compared to other reviews. what i do is read as many reviews as I can and average out the scores (convert to percent, ex. GamePro gave Halo a "95%"). from there i get a general view of the game. if it gets a pretty good rating, then I'll rent it and see if its any good. its really all about opinions.

no way am i a "slow" gamer, more of an impatient gamer, i get right to the point. My friends are slow gamers, and it gets irritating when they check every crack for something, i usually grab the control and do it for them.

there's the thing, my friends playing co-op Halo with me. they just move on without doing anything. they just get themselves killed. most of the time, i make sure that all objectives are done and that everything is destroyed. if some of the objectives are too hard, then i just move on (halo legendary? just keep running... fight only when you have to.)
