I am in the annoying position of not haveing a Braodband connection. Not because i don't want it, but it's not available.

Regardless of this little inconvienience, hopefully it will soon be remedied, i am still buying the XBOX LIVE Kit, actually i already placed a deposite for one.

My logic says that the communicator and the game are worth it alone.

So, non Broadband gamers, what are you going to do??

i accually up dated o broadband recently . . . yes XBL was the deciding factor . . . but since i have 3 PCs in the house the port router i bouth isnt going to waste at all and the broadband is def worth it . . . . so much faster

Interesting plight. But if you think about it, why not try Satelite Highspeed Connection...via Direct TV or Dish Network? That may work.

Untill next time...

Yo highlite, why waste $50.00 on da XBL Kit if your not able to get Broadband in your area?

Im getting DSL from my dawgs over at earthlink in August for the Dell 8200 Notebook im getting around that time too, just because of the XBL motivation to make me get it.
Plus dial-up sucks anyways.:)

Why bother if you can't use it? If you had broadband, I would advise you to get it... SO GET FASTER INTERNET!!! wait hold on - its not available. Too bad. So what is the point of having the kit then? You can't use the communicator if you had the kit.. and revolt is going ot be the worst game ever.

It wont work...

Besides being $70+ a month it is ONE way...

Meaning you would still need to upload with your puny 56k modem...

That isint good enough for XBL...

And Satellite is TERRIBLE because you just cant play even computer games due to lag...think about it...your slly modem has to be sent to some CO at who knows where (long distance charges may apply) of the dish company then that signal has to be resent back up to space who knows how many miles up that that probably flooded satellite and then finally transimitted back down to you and then through your computer blah blah...

Anyway, MAD packet loss....

Satelite connections suck for gaming, normal ping for them is around an upwards of 200ms. But if I was stuck on narrowband i'd spend the 50bucks on a game. Stock on xblive games then get the live kit once you get broadband.
