I was wondering what kinda internet connection everyone has, like i have 56k modem. so i don't have the right connection for xbox live. do you.

56k is terrible, but DSL isnt available here yet. so if i play xbox live then i'll have to hope i can talk my parents into gettin Cable internet. it's the only thing i can hope for. it takes way 2 long to download things on a 56k. im tryin to download Mr. Deeds the movie and I'v been downloadin it for a day and a half. plus i dont even know if they will play on this so it might even be a waste of time. who cares i might get to see it early though. but i hope i can get at least cable internet by fall.

Well... just don't get AOL broadband services. they really suck. The best DSL provider is Verizon and AT&T does a kick ass job at both DSL and Cable.

i have it! lol, do you get ur cable from charter? i do. theyre pretty good. what service do u have? i have the silver package. lol, like 4 of my friends uncapped their cable, so they download at like 500 k/s. and 3 of them got caught, and they were suspended for a week! lol, i have no idea why the other one didnt get caught, he probly did something so they wouldnt find out, lol.:D

lol, i never knew there was a platinum for pipeline, just a bronze, silver, and gold. anyway, its pretty fast. i usually max out at 125 k/s for downloading. and i have the silver package. but the upload sucks, its like 128k or 256k, i forget though, lol:D

we are getting DSL soon,....but im still a little weary about online gaming- i still play TFC for HL and thats it,..i dont like paying fees unless i get the software free,..you know like AOL- but AOL sucks....

Yeah, fees really suck.. Other than the cable bill of course, Xbox live is like the only monthly fee I'm willling to pay for myself :p

All that is in my area is Sympatico dsl, and it used to be soo good. It was a good service compared to the other dsl guys in the states, but now theyve got and started charging extra if i use over 5 gigs bandwidth in a month. and they are lowering the speed.

I used to think of the entertainment value and price value comparable to cable TV, but now theyve raised the price and lowerd the entertainment value, so all it is now is a pile of ****

Does anyone know if xbox is going to have an adapter like from the telephone line into the adapter and then into the modem in the xbox. that would be so sweet!! :D :cool:

I have pretty bad DSL, but xbox live isn't very demanding. I read in the latest OXM while it support's higher speed's, it only look's for a minimum of 64k, up or down!! (my dsl is 320/120, although I could pay more for more speed:mad: )

I never knew there was a platinum version. How much do you pay 4 it? i got the gold version.
