Will Battlefield 1942 be for XBL?

Ok, Im really looking forward to Battlefield 1942 and I wanna know if it will work on xbox live, if not how will the multiplayer work?

It hasn't been confirmed yet for xbox live, but if it does go online it has three modes. Team Deathmatch, capture the flag, and conquest. Team deathmatch is gonna be like the one in halo and so is capture the flag.Conquest is basically like the campaign mode. If it doesn't go online, it should be available in split screen modes and maybe system link, but those features have not yet been confirmed either. If it goes online it will support the xbox communicator.

If this game didn't go online I think it would be a huge surprise. The only reason why it might not go online is because ea is the publisher of the game I think. And they have that whole we want our games being played on our server so all 3 systems can play each other but I think that is only with games that they make. I don't really know but it should be. This game looks amazing.

i think that it would be lame if it was not for xbox live it would be an amazing game on the net... i really hope they make it for xbxo live i would definitely consider buying it.

I've been looking forward to BF: 1942 myself. I got chosen to BETA test the PC version but since I don't have a Geforce card, the damn thing won't work. As for the Xbox version, I believe IGN said in one of their more recent previews System Link was defintely in but Xbox Live compatibility was still an un-answered question. I hope you can play it on Xbox Live it would be so d*mn awesome! Signing off...

i think i read somewhere that it will be online, and it can support up to 64 people. lol. i think i read it in a thread on this forum

That was probably the pc version. I went to their official site and all it talks about is the pc version. But I saw in an interview that it was definate for system link like anthony said but still nothin on xbl. I am hoping it is for it.

This game was built from the ground up as a multiplayer title so if they don't make it for Xbox Live they are nuts! I think the only thing holding them back from saying yes is the fact that EA wants to handle the server side of things so they can make more money. They don't like MS's closed service for the XBox... stupid management at EA!!

Originally it was more or less guaranteed for XBL, but then EA (the publisher) announced that they weren't going to release any games for XBL and instead focus solely on Sony's service.

Where it stand now, I have no idea although I am leaning towards no. It's a damn shame too. It's looking to be the best WWII game out (to me anyway) and I would really love some 64v64 action.
