All teams controlled by humans! We started one back on dreamcast and had a BLAST...but unfortunately a lot of people weren't able to keep up with stat tracking etc., so things didn't end up too well :( I have however heard of NFL leagues, and an NBA league run fully and successful, so I'm really hoping we
can get an NBA League organized. I am going to start recruiting now, and ask that all interested parties be 100% sure they can commit to a full 82 game season and playoffs in order to ensure the league's sucess.

This ultimate would be if Xbox keeps track of season stats ... username/team .... if they're online .... forum for the league members to join through the xbox. With the hard drive...all of this is possible! Hell...imagine saving replays of final minute of play down the stretch of a TIGHT game or OT ... you could
put that up on highlight reels in the online forum. **** would be so sweet! Scores from around the league...scores of games in progress!! Trades that update all rosters upon login to season forum! Man there is so much they can do, and for the first time in console history, with the XBOX it's all possible. All depends on whether or not the developers will take the time and effort
to realize the possibilities. I hear Madden for PC has an online franchise mode that is similar to what I hope for above.

I will be running an NBA2k3 league with some help from hopefully a few of you who want to help run the league. In the event that you just want to play and not have any league organizational responsibilities, then that is totally fine too! Mabye someone who would be interested could help develop a template in
which people could enter the final stats into a website after the game is complete, and we could use the website as the news page and general forum. ((I might have someone to help us do this, but it's not a definate thing as of yet))

So if any of you are interested in joining the NBA2k3 league, please email me directly at heinekentoronto@hotmail.com with:

I am definately all for it if I can get a cable or dsl modem in my area by then. I might be able to get cable and in my area now so that might make it a almost definate for me but I don't know yet. That sounds so fun but how are you going to do it. Like who gets what team or can they be whatever team they want.

Hey!

Glad to hear your interest! Just so I have a record, for those of you interested please email me at heinekentoronto@hotmail.com with the info I requested above. Would really appreciate if you did that for me too Ryan, even though you're not 100% due to the broadband situation, however there is a question I asked above...just enter in your situation so I have it in an email to refer back to.

As to how the league will run, this is all in it's early stages so there is nothing definate or set in stone as of yet. I have a few ideas from previous leagues from back in the Dreamcast leagues, however I will always consult with all of the members and listen to what you all want. This league is for us all, I'll just be organizing it. Everyone will have their input as we near closer to the game's release :)

A couple things, there are 29 teams so there will be 29 spots available. If we get say 33 people, then 4 of those people will be on a waiting list to replace people who don't show. If we get 50 people, then I'd definately roll out a 2 sided league where there will be 2 different leagues running simultaneously so everyone gets a chance to participate. No one can be the same team, and I'm not 100% sure yet on how we're going to choose teams yet, however what we did in a previous league was started a thread in our forum, and everyone picked what team they wanted. If 2 or more people picked the same team, there would be a playoff between the two to decide who gets it.

For example, if 2 people wanted the Lakers, the 2 would play each other .. Lakers vs Lakers and the winner got the Lakers for the season. The downfall with this, is that there are a lot of good teams to choose from, so people didn't take the 'best' team .. but the team they would have most fun with. A lot looked back through the list to see what has been 'spoken for' already, and chose a different team. Reason being, is that once the team choices were in, all the teams picked solely by 1 person were their's for the season automatically. The teams that were taken by 2 or more people were played off for. Great for the person who wins, he got the team they were playing for, however now the loser is left with a choice between the remaining teams, which were all the basement teams in terms of skill.

Hell, some picked the worst teams in terms of ratings because they're fans of the team. This made the league very fun.

So, Please send me that email, and I hope to hear from a lot more people who sound like they would have the time and be just as dedicated to the league as you sound :)

Cheers!
