Xbox system link cable & RJ-45 network cable.

I just want to confirm that these two cables are different, even though they look exactly the same.

Is the Xbox system link cable for linking two xboxs together different from the RJ-45 cable that you would use to link the xbox to a network ?

Is the system link cable sometimes called a 'crossover cable' ?

I guess that my IT department would have hundreds of RJ-45 cables, and they make them to length.

But what about link cables, can you make them ?

Thanks,

Yes they are the same as cross over cables except for one difference. The system link cable comes in a special xbox package with an microsoft xbox logo on it and it probably upmarked close to 150%.

Yeah, the link cable is nothing more than a crossover cable, which is a standard ethernet cable with two wires crossed over. Your IT guys should know how to make them.
