Hey buddies,

I love XBconnect and sometimes it LAGs crazy during a game (Like 0.4 frame per sec.), but sometimes the connection is as smooth as silk....I am not sure if my DSL speed is good enough, so plz help me determine.

Download Speed: 957.2Kbps
Upload Speed: 116.8Kbps

Thanks very much.

thats good to join games and maybe host 1 other Xbox . . . u should try to host more then 1 other Xbox at a time, cauz u need 128kbs per Xbox that u host . . .

Is it 128 per box or per person playing on the box? I thought it was per person.

lol....Bad news for you and me....Xbox Live! does require a MINIMUM of 128kbps upload stream......You see, that's just the MINIMUM! You better get a 512kbps upload stream ethernet. ;)

Hi I'm in the same situation as Steve here, I've got the same setup and a cool router but I'm not sure if I can play online with this set-up

Hey Steve I found myself a D-Link DSL-504 Router I've connected it to the XBOX and the "System Link Play" lit up so if I can play with this set-up I'll see ya online mate
:)

Edit: I forgot to mention I'm in the UK, so will I be able to play with you guys in the US or not, I have a PAL which I have Halo for and a US XBOX wihich I'll by a US Halo if need be, so can you tell me if this situation will work with either of them

Thanks:D

Hey dude In your US XBM issue10 in the "Reader Interaction" a letter from Josh Coco, Title "Everything online" he asked about XBOX Live in question 2 and the response he got was that he only needs 64kps for excellent performance

so whats going on here?

Trust me, you need 512....If that guy you're playin' XboxLive! with you live in Asia, and you live in North America, you are DEAD!

Think about it, if you needed a SUPERFAST connection to play, LIVE would absolutely BOMB because hardly anyone would play it. MS wants $$, they have to set the bar where any broadband will do. If they say 64k up and down is fast enough, then even my 265/104 will be plenty. Have you ever played Dreamcast online? If so, you'd know just how efficient they can make things. Xboxconnect, gamespy ect. are extremely inefficient due to what they are trying to accomplish. Also, MS will be the host, not your xbox! So stop with these horror stories on needing mega speed, you dont! Enough is enough, having 10 times what you need wont make much difference. My freind has Optimum online cable, and in pso for pc trial we BOTH lagged because the network was brand new and not optimized. Now its as smooth as:eek: for both of us:)
