Alright heres the question what speed do I need to play XBOX Live and also XBconnect, my ADSL is 512 download and 256 upload

I just read in US XBM issue 10 a question from Josh Coco in Reader Interaction about speed and lag this was question 2 and the reply he had was XBOX Live only needs 64kps for execellent performance, if this is true will it work for XBconnect

and sorry for all you lot about that terrible post

hope you can understand it now:D

to anyone who has just come on I have just erased my rubbish post and put in a post that is legible

i hate all this forced division of posts. I'd rather just have one forum and weed through everything.

What are you trying to ask???

I think what he is asking is since they are in the UK and
their systems are PAL, can they currently play online with
those in the US or other areas that are NTSC.

Currently if you are using something like xbconnect, the
quick answer I believe is no. Also the same holds true
for gamespy. The reason for this is when using either
one of these pieces of software to play online, what you
are doing is using a cable/dsl connection like a LAN/WAN
to do a system link play.

If I remember reading it right, system link play will not
work between two Xbox's using different formats because
of the difference in NTSC and PAL, 50hz vs 60hz, the systems
cannot synch up together.

When Xbox Live goes online everywhere, then you will
be able to play with someone who has a different format
system anywhere in the world that Live is available.

However, if you are in the UK, and have a US NTSC version
of the Xbox, then you should be able to get online with
either xbconnect or gamespy and play with those in the
US. Although I would think your ping times would probably
suck, and you would experience serious lag times.

I hope this answered your question

Yes indeed...I tried playing with Pal and it doesn't start up. Too bad you UK people can't play with the most elite gamers in the world...AMERICANS:p
