The arrogance of EA reemerges
I picked this forum since many former DC owners can remember EA's barbs towards Sega over the years (and the TXB sports forum is pretty dead). Not much has changed apparently. Here's a quote from EA Vice President Jeff Brown:

"There's no way on earth we're going to hold the same market share we did last year, because there was no competition," he said. "Sega could ship an empty box this year, and it would still be an improvement for them. But Sega is going to stay the Burger King of the sports video game business--they can toast the buns, they can add more pickles, but they're still No. 2."

You can find the full article on the football wars here. I must take issue with his assessment though. I prefer EA in NCAA Football and NHL, but Sega destroys them in the NBA arena and matches up pretty well with the NFL (perhaps surpassing Madden this year). WSB (along with Acclaim's ASB) also kills Triple Play but it's not multi-console yet. EA owns soccer while Sega owns tennis. So seeing as each has its strengths and weaknesses, are these comments perhaps nervous hubris over a true challenger being capable of hanging with them?

I'm curious as to whom you all prefer. Sports titles are perhaps the least discussed in this forum.

Nobody buy any EA sports games, they must lose to the almighty SEGA, and we should all throw heavy objects at the guy who said that.
