NFL 2K3 "First Game" Thread

Hey everbody come in here and post how you did on your first game with NFL 2K3. I'm not to excited about how I did...

Defensive AI is tight. Threw the ball too late on a come back route and got it picked off.

I just played my first "season" game against the Eagles. It started off well with Samari Rolle intercepting the first pass attempt by McNabb and returning it 72 yards for a TD. It got better when I stopped the Eagles and went on a long drive, hitting the right upright with a 54 yard field goal attempt. I got another interception right before half time. The end result of that was a 38 yard field goal right as time expired in the first half. The 2nd half opened with Derrick Mason returning the kickoff 97 yards for a TD. I stopped the Eagles again and went on a long time consuming drive. I was stopped at the 1 inch line on 4th and goal. The Eagles went on some freak unstoppable drive, 9 plays, 100 yds for a TD. I held the ball and kicked a 54 yd field goal as time expired just for the hell of it, for practice, and to see if I could.

No offensive TDs, but a 20-7 win...I'll take it.

MAN OH MAN!!

I was up 14 to 7 too!!

And I had the ball with about a minute to go... with about 30 secs or so I had the ball around the 50 yard line. It's 4th down and I picked that Hail Mary play "Huck and Pray" or something like that.

The DB on Sutherland blitzed... I threw it up.... WIDE OPEN!! No one with in 15 yards...

Goes right through his hands!! I was like NOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I watched the replay and it hit him right in the hands and he just dropped it.

I was so bummed.. I might have been able to tie it.

At least I held my team to 23 points. Really 20 (fieldgoal with 1 second left):mad: But what difficulty was everybody on? I had mine on Pro and didn't even know it. Anoher reason I lost though was because I went for it on 4th down every single time. I think I made it onto their side of the field like once.:p

I played on Pro. The cpu will screw you on 4th and short every time...

hehe..happened to me like 10 times. The only receiver that would actually catch something was my Joey Galloway.:)

My second game wasn't as bad as the first. I think this would officially qualify as my first game since the one I played last night I didn't take too seriously.

Tennessee (ME) vs. Detroit (CPU) Preseason Game
Score is tie 14 to 14 with 25 second left in the 4th quarter. Detroit are at the 17 yard line.....3rd and long....McMahon decides to pass towrads the enzone. Randall Godfrey steps in front of the pass and interecept the ball!!! He returns it 84 yards for the TD!!!! Titans win!!!!! 21-14! Almost gave up the big hail mary after that one. Whew thank goodness for shoestring tackles!!

Well back to the game!!! It is sweeeeet!!!

Yeah, rocket caught 1, but never on 4th. And I think Bryant was like 3 for 33yds.

Just to prove to you guys that the Cowboys are garbage ;) I played one of my boys last night and I had my Dolphins. Needless to say Quincy got picked off 4 times :cool: and hurt after the 2nd qtr. from 6 sacks...Miami's D is tight man!!! :eek: And I also had Ricky run for 60+, then Fiedler got hurt, so Lucas came in and looked dam good too. I tell ya, when the pass is up, taking control of the receiver and making a leaping catch is just soooo smooth it's sick...This game owns :eek:

You can't really be talking about my boyz having bad passing.

Pass defense shouldn't even be that close. But if you listen to them, they even say that Miami has one of the best secondary's in the NFL ;) But both of our QB's suck, but Fiedler threw less INT's last year, and we have much better WR's.....but 21 & 23 is pretty lame for both team :(

That's pretty close if you ask me. The Cowboys in my opinion are very over-looked when it comes to people noticing the skill of their DB's. They'll be even better this year with Roy Williams. ;)

Well this was my third game and I still have no luck. The computer destroyed my rushing game once again. It also screwed me by injuring Michael Vick late in the 4th quarter on what was supposed to be the "perfect" comeback. They proceeded to intercept the ball from my #2 quarter back twice and pull 10 points out of it. Here are the stats:

But my last 3 games...

I was the 49ers vs. Cards, Seahawks, Panthers..

I lost all 3 games... ALL 3 games I was up by halftime once up 14 to 0

And in all three games I've lost the game with the CPU getting a TD or FG in the last minute of the game. I got really upset last night.. I threw a 45 or 46 yard TD with like 1:05 left to take the lead.. and the CPU drove on me and got like a 33 yard TD run.

I was playing teams in the 49ers division.. but I was to affraid to play the Rams.. I think I'll get killed LOL

I only got to play a half before I had to make some dinner, but it was Raiders (me) vs. Ravens. At the half I'd already thrown 2 picks and was down by 14.

I haven't even played another football game besides Madden since '94. This is going to take a little getting used to. So far I'm not too happy, but I'm sure it'll grow on me.

Finally! I won my first game!!! It took me four games but I've finally done it!!! And I did it with the Falcons!!! Watch out for the mighty Falcons when the league starts!!!

This game was kinda weird. All of the 17 points were scored in the 2nd quarter with Minnesota scoring while time expired towards the half. On my opening drive I got down the field on key passing plays and got a field goal. Then I shut down the Minnesota passing game. And got the ball back. I then drove the ball down field on key receptions and scored on a 21 yard pass to Shawn Jefferson. Basically what won the game for me was an interception late in the 4th quarter. Minnesota had it on about my 30 yard line. I'm just glad I won a game before the week was over!!!
