The best SP combo is Shotgun and Plasma rifle. SG owns flood and Plasma rifles rip up Covenant.

Sniper rifle dominates MP. I kill with 100% headshots all the time.

Overall i like the pistol and the sniper... i have perfect aim with my pistol (3 shots and ur dead... every one i shoot goes in the head), the sniper rifle is good and i have like 100% aim with that.... with my 4 bullet clip i kill four people... if i had broad band internet id probly be in the xbc top 10 best players...

In MP I prefer the sniper, I try to avoid contact in bigger levels, but if I do I take out my pistol. ;)

i must say sniper pistol and rocket launcher rule in multyplaer......but when playing the story mode I love using a cross between:
plasma guns for covenent
assualt rifle for little flood guys
shotgun for walking big flood guys
although shotgun seems to work on the covenet as well

plasma pistol. its PHAST. if you got quick fingers you can fire it faster then the Plasma rifle.

MP- pistol is #1 sniper a close second, but it sucks for close range or when ur getting shot at big time

No, the rocket launcher is pretty bad in MP, its near the bottom of my list. The pistol or sniper would easily counter it. The only level that the RL is the best in is Prisoner because its so small.

the standard grenade. I can remove any sniper from any hideout with a well lobbed grenade. I can bounce those things off walls and around corners so nobody can get near me.

The other night in a system link CTF game, the opposing team parked the Warthog INSIDE a building on top of their flag then left one guy in front of it to protect it. I bounced a grenade from outside the room off a wall and under the warthog. It rolled the warthog over which then ran over their guard (slammed him into the wall, instant death) and BOOM..I had their flag and was on my way home.

Against the flood, its pistol and shotgun.
Against the covenant plasma pistol (or rifle) and human pistol.
In MP, a pistol and shotgun are my faves.

Actually, the plasma pistol is quite good when used properly. Higher damage per shot than the plasma rifle. Charged up shot not only takes out an Elite's shields, but also stuns him momentarilly, making follow-up shots easier. Sure, it burns ammo fast if you use repeated charged shots, but more than half of the Covenant soldiers use one so it's easy to pick up a replacement. I found myself using the plasma pistol quite often in later levels.

Of course, I still prefer the shotgun myself. Incredibly effective against Flood and Covenant. Only downside is the small ammo cache and the less-than-plentiful ammo drops.

Its just the normal human pistol for me. If you shoot well it does a lot of damage, 3 shot=kill. I think the rocket launcher is just a lame weapon.

Welcome to XBA's forums! I agree... Rocket Launcher is pretty lame in multiplayer... but only if used constantly. If you are going up against a tank or something, then a rocket launcher is anything but lame :) Just not much skill involved to kill others..

I chose the Shotgun, because it is powerful and cool. But I also like the Sniper Rifle and the Pistol.

I'd have to go with the Pistol and the Shotgun. This combination takes care of both far and close combat. What I like to do in multiplayer is start my attack from a pretty far distance and move in closer, then pull out the shotgun and bang mellefire at the same time=their ass is dead. I love using the RL in indoor multiplayer though. The other night I was playing a lan game and was down like 10 kills, found a rocket launcher and killed five ppl with two rockets that were fighting by them selfs it was so sweet. Does anyone know if their is a mode in Halo multiplayer where when you die you lose a point and when you kill you gain a point, cause I'm sick of my friends going suicidal on me and winning, even though they died like 30 times to my 10.

The Plasma Pistol is pretty crappy...but its good if you have a vehicle full of people coming at you, just overcharge and shoot, it'll take out the shields of everyone on the vehicle...

By fav weapon is the human Pistol. head shots are fun. And I love the look on people's faces when I kill them with it and they have a tank...

Rocket Launcher is great too, im an expert with it at close range...except that one time when I hit the tree by accident...

I like the Shotgun, but I suck with it, so I dont like it that much...

Nobody likes Needlers eh? I hate em too, but i do think plasma rifles are underated just a little bit, they have good long range accuarcy and take out shields pretty well.


Certian situations call for different weapons, but most of the time I use a Sniper Rifle and a Shotgun. Needlers are pretty good for small multiplayer arena's, but I prefer not too use them when i dont need too.

I can't pick just one. It just depends on what I intend to do or what situation I'm in. I like the shotgun just for the sheer shop and drop capacity. But you always need a secondary long range gun. The human pistol is almost too powerful useless when going after the flood or walking into a mass battle. I'm not the sniping type. It' fun, but I prefer up close and personal. So I'd go with the assualt rifle because it's fairly accurate at medium range. But there's an art to that rifle. It's better off in small bursts. I like the plasma rifle too. It's my opinion that plasma weapons are much better against the covenant. Towards the later levels I ended up with a plasma rifle and a shotgun. I'm pretty dangerous with a rocket launcher. Dangerous to myself. I always end up killing myself. I get frusterated because you can't hit anything from far away with a rocket. So I get closer. Too close and blow myself to hell. But I can pitch a hand grenade. Fragmentation for groups and small rooms, plasma for the people.

4) Plasma Rifle - When you are shooting some one with it, it stuns 'em, them run up to them and hit him. Should kill them unless they have an overshield. (y'all probably knew that already though).
