xbox live beta order status [Archive]

i have now just checked my email, and i did get selected...but it hasn't really sunk in yet(because i just arrived from fball practice...and im REALLY tired)...but tonight i know i will scream like a 4 year old girl....

i haven't ordered my things yet....i'll try to get it done either tonight or tomorrow :)

Actually.. read the page. It says ship for delivery on the 23rd. With overnight shipping, that means (if you order by noon tomorrow) that we should get it on friday at our doorstep.

Where does it say overnight shipping? I don't think $5 for shipping is overnight shipping. i hope your right.

And according to the site it will be ship on the 23rd, that on Friday. So if it overnight we'll get it on Saturday.

What are you talking about? They tell you when you order the kit that it will ship on the 23rd, which is Friday. It will be shipped UPS overnight Air, which means you won't get it until Monday. UPS does not deliver on Saturday.

One more time for the slow kids in the back of the class. If you place your order by Thursday the 22nd, then your order will ship via UPS overnight air on Friday the 23rd. UPS does not deliver on Saturday, so you won't get the kit until Monday.

UPS does deliver on Saturday, so lets get that straight. What do ya think the Staurday Delivery stickers are for. Now the other part , will Microsoft pay for that service at $10 a delivery. Uh, no...so you're right and wrong. =)..Sorry just my 2 cents.

XBOX isn't going topay extra for Saturday delivery. But I can't help it that you illiterate kids can't read, or are just making crap up, and oviously didn't read the information when you ordered. It clearly stated that they are shipping the beta kits overnight, on Friday. They will arrive Monday. End of story. And yes, by the **** poor way you spell and type, you are slow. Go to school and learn something!

Are you a idiot, retarded or you just can't read and understand a post correctly. I never said in my post that the kits WILL be ship tomorrow and arrive on friday or saturday... I said Hopefully in other words a wish, like you wish or hope for something even though there a chance it won't happen. let me put it in a sentence so you could understand what i meant better - I wish it would be ship tomorrow. Hopefully it arrive by the weekend... understand now? I never said it WILL ship tomorrow. Go back to school so the teacher could teach you the difference between the 2 words...

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to make sure everybody is clear on delivery. People have been saying all day how they are getting them tomorrow, friday, etc. I tend to believe that these people didn't even get the 3rd email. It seems that they are reading bits and pieces of the news today, and making it up as they go. When you ordered the kit, it clearly stated that they were shipping it overnight , but you're only paying for standard delivery. They also said that all orders placed before 2:00pm Thursday the 22nd, would ship Friday the 23rd.

So, no hard feelings. See you folks on XBOX LIVE Monday!

I know what the site said when I order it but since my status is in ready to ship I was just hoping it would ship tomorrow, I never said it will be ship tomorrow just hoping so ic ould be playing in the weekend but chance of that happening are slim. I know they ship on Friday & we'll recieve them on Monday but I'll keep hoping they'll ship it tomorrow. The earlier the better.

i contacted the customer support people from the xbox live ordering site when i was selected. they emailed me back with this.

Your order for the XBOX Starter Kit will ship August 22nd, for delivery on August 23rd, if you are in the United States. If you are in Canada, your order will ship on August 22nd, for delivery on August 26th.

Once again..

I'm reading it logically. It says if you order by noon on the 22nd.. your order will ship for delivery on the 23rd.

That could mean

A) Your order will ship ON the 23rd (meaning that's the day it leaves the warehouse)

B) Your order will ship * FOR DELIVERY ON THE 23rd (meaning that's the day we get it)

see the difference

Now here's the logic.. why would they need our orders in by 12 noon on the 22nd? BECAUSE THEY SEND THE ORDERS TO SHIPPING THEN AND THEY WILL LEAVE THE WAREHOUSE BY 2PM TO GET THEM TO THE AIRPORT FOR THE SHIPMENT THAT NIGHT. Which means will get our packages tomorrow (friday). That's just the way I'm seeing it. BUT IT CAN BE TAKEN EITHER WAY.

At any rate, stop arguing. Everyone can see everyone's point. And not a single one of you know for sure. The little tidbit they sent us can be taken either way, as I've just proved, so just wait and find out. This nonsensical drivel about "You are an idiot" is pointless, and in bad taste.

Why don't you swap gamertags and take this up on live?

Also... I wonder why Live can't do what The Gamespy Arcade and Xbconnect does, meaning trick your xbox into thinking it's a Lan?

and someone correct me if im wrong but the xbox doesn't really need gamespy or xbconnect for it to detect an internet connection. even if you're not on gamespy you can go to the system link play section of the games, there aren't any games available though because there is no way of sending the information from one person to another if they aren't on a lan. what the programs do are, they take the info from the xbox and transfer it to the other person's computer which sort of appears as another xbox (when connected to the same network as your xbox) to your xbox.

xbox live is sort of doing the same thing. it's basically being run through microsoft which is acting as the gamespy computer in a sense. instead of using two computers to host a game between 2 people, it's only using one.

at least im pretty sure that's the case in sort of generalized terms. like i said, correct me if im wrong.

I hope you're right. I guess we'll know later today when order status changes from "available for delivery" to "out to delivery". I really hope you're right. It's suppoesed to be 95-100* this weekend, I'll have another excuse to sit inside and play!

ok, i think you're refering to the fact that you won't be able to play the original halo on xbox live...yeah that does suck!

i do agree...everyone is going to buy the sequel, if not just for the fact that you can play it on xbox live. i hate having to mess with setting up games, waiting for people to enter the room, having slow computers, etc.

I got home from work yesterday and found the golden e-mail in my box. Which I almost fell out of my chair.

So I clicked on the link that directed me to the ecommerce store. It asked for my last name and e-mail I typed it in and the F$cking site, excuse my french, said it couldn't validate my information... What the hell is that.

I called customer support and their looking into it... They picked me up and threw me down...

Swing: I had the exact same problem. The cure is to set up a new account on the site. I set up a new account and everything went smooth as silk from there. It DID make for a frustrating 15 minutes until i figured out the deal though.

Marc: How do you mean set up a new account??? On xbox.com or at the commerce site? What I think is screwing me up is that my login e-mail at xbox.com is different that my contact me at e-mail address. This is because the login address is not longer valid...

When I clicked the link, it said "unable to validate information." Iput in my last name with the e-mail address. It said it again and gave me a screen that said "new account". I put in all my info and then was able to order the kit. Oh yeah, it was at the commerce site.

I got ya... I tried to put in my info a couple dozen times and it won't take it, I never got the screen that your talking about. Although I did click on the home button right above and it had a link for new account. I tried to get in that way but it brought me back to the validation page... Oh well hopefully it will be fixed when I get home tonight...

swing, one thing you could try, when you go to the link that is in the email you'll see in the address bar where it is trying to verify your username and email, try changing that to whatever you need to and see if that allows it to verify your info.

it looks like it looks at your email, login name, and zip code

EB's? No, we getting ours from MS. They gonna be ship today or tomorrow. 2 email went out yesterday, 1 email said your in & had a link where to order the kit. The other said your in & in 30 day you'll recieve the link where to order the kits.

By next week I'm gonna be testing Xbox Live

Personally I think there are 3 different emails circulating. One : You are in and here's the link. 2: You are in and think link will be sent to you shortly. (the one i got) 3: You will receive more info in the next 30 days (sept 20th email)

Just my opinion from seeing all the different posts.
