look, i don't know your setups, but if you have a hub or router to share your connection with the pc, it's like this.
use one cable to plug from your Xbox into the hub/router. use another cable to plug from your pc into the hub/router. no use one more cable to plug from the uplink of the hub/router directly into your modem, assuming it has a port.

I connected with no problem, well at first i couldn't but that because I can't go online with Xbox Live & PC in the sametime so I had to shut down my PC & reset the cable modem.. then login Xbox Live! I played a few game & it rocks.
I'll need to buy router

That won't work for me. My modem isn't "freestanding". If I shut down my PC, the modem goes out. I don't think it's physically possible to run XBOX LIVE with this type of modem. Big booboo there. Off to Best Buy I guess.

Dude yea seriously stop complaining. It doesn't detect your Xbox hahaha. Do you understand the concept of beta? It means might not work, not much user support, you're supposed to know what you're doing and you're on your own. I wish they chose people with experience..
my guess is:
500 people can't get xbox live to work
600 don't have a CC so they can't buy it online
70 people bought it, but their parents wont let them use the CC
30 people accidently ate part of the beta pack
Seriously 1200 people won't be playing....

Yes I realize that, but if these people had some experience with networks and such, they may be able to tell if it is their setup or if it is really the servers on XBL.
I'm not saying these ppl are idiots, but with a question like what is a router? (another thread) what am I supposed to assume?
