I heard xbox has a resolution of 1980*1080 or something.
what good does it do to an ordinary tv?

nothing, it does nothing for an ordinary tv. however, if you have a hi-res tv or hdtv, it is supported where as other consoles don't.

Hell no they don't. I think you need to do YOUR homework. Neither Gamecube not PS2 support HDTV. This basically makes Gamecube obsolete at launch. The price of HDTVs should drop this year, making them affordable for almost everyone.

I did some research and PS2 and GameCube DO NOT support HDTV capability. Only XBox does.

flat screen PC monitors suck, they leave a little blur all the time, and ther like 1000+ $$.

I was looking at some HDTVs at future shop and they were awesome, DOA3 on those would be so sweet!!

I don't know about PS2, but Gamecube definitely supports HDTV.

Do a little research.

Gamecube supports 480P (Progressive scan), and can be used with component video cables.
