Heh heh

Currently I'm painting one of my Xbox controllers, But I didnt want my hands to touch paint when I use the controller so I'm painting only the middle section, see (very rough) interpretation of how it will look

But while doing this I thought "why dont they make a controller skin like for the Xbox" I'm sure Xbox Skins would be able to create something of the sort, so I made another (rough) interpretation :D

Anyways when I finish my controller and get some photos of it I will post them

:D

For the second one, what material(s) were you thinking of using?

The second one I wouldent be able to even do it, It would have to be some sort of pre made curved sticker to fit on the controller correctly, I've played around with enough graphic kits for motorbikes to know how difficult it is with curved surfaces.

My controllers finished but the paint is not fully dried yet, I dont have a digital camera though so its gunna take awhile to post some pics of it.

No pictures? Oh well, I assume it looks decent. Anyways for the second one, if you had a controller template you could create 3 separate sections. One for the top section just before you reach the jewel, then one for the area around the jewel, then one for the lower portion directly below the jewel. If you cut and place them right the separation lines shouldn't stand out too bad and you wouldn't get the crumple effect of a single piece. Hmm, I'm gonna try some things out with doing a decal and see what happens to satisfy my own curiosity here. Are the pics U posted the actual size?

I dont think there the original size, I just nabbed 'em of the net the jewel in my controller is different its black with a green X and Xbox in it.

The controller looks pretty good but some paint did get around the jewel but its only just noticeable.

But you have given me an idea with the three different stickers but I dont have a sticker that big, I might try it with some contact and see how it works.

I'm gonna give it a go because I've still got both laminate and printable 8 x 11" stickers. I do skate frame custimization for people in my hockey league. The combo of the sticky laminate and huge sticker is fairly durable. Most of the designs I do last the entire season and if you know anything about roller hockey, the skate frame gets hit quite often. Check out Staples if you want to find some printable coated 8 x 11" non perferated sticker sheets.

Hehe I was about to ask if you had a webcam. Looks good and appears to be shiny as well. Probably a good idea to have the design or color on the interior too since it won't have to endure hours of touching. I found what appears to be an actual size pic so I can create an outline template easy enuf that will match the controller perfectly. I'll get some pics up when I get my design finished. I'll just bump this thread even if it falls off the front page.

Thats cool. I might do something like that. Just get that sticker paper and make a design on my pc. I'll try to get a preview of my template up when I'm done.
