Is anyone here actually using an ICS (Internet Connection Sharing found in Windows since '98 SE) setup to connect the XBox to the Internet?
And yes I know that I can get a router instead or connect the XBox directly to the modem, but just humour me and ignore those options when looking at this question.
Thanks,

Thanks for answering ... are you using a hub or does the Xbox plug in directly into the second network card?

I have a old Cable/DSL router that I am using as a hub
I have 2 NIC cards in my comp, one connected to the cable modem and one connectted to my Xbox. After running ICS, I have had no problems on Live. I've also ran it from the 2nd NIC to a hub and other systems and an Xbox with no problems.

Thanks,
Speaking from experience, all I can say is that I could never get the ICS to work in Win98SE to connect two computers let alone the Xbox. According to some info I found when I was setting up my home network about a year ago, ICS doesn't work very well in Win98SE. I know you said "since '98 SE", but I think you might have better luck with ME, XP, or 2000.

Thanks for the info guys. As for ICS and Win98 SE, I have it working just fine right now on my network so adding the XBox should not be a problem.
