Now I dont beleive anything can be absolutley "Hack" or "mod" proof, but we'll just have to see.

Do you think this will eliminate m$ plans to run a sniffer program over 'live' to weed out moded boxes?

M$ never said they had plans to run a 'sniffer' over XBL. As a matter of fact, a representative on behalf of M$ said the exact opposite. Yes. They could change their mind in the future, but we don't know for sure yet.

Just wanted to clear that up for you.

The article does not state that the new design is mod proof. It simply states that current mod chips don't work on the new design. This should not astound anyone. New hardware. New mod chips needed. They'll come. They'll just need to be re-engineered. It doesn't mean the new design is un-moddable. It just means that it is currently un-modded.

It's the age old game. They release hardware. It gets modded. They update hardware. The modders update the mod chips. They re-update the hardware. The modders re-update the mod chips... so on and so forth. Is anyone reminded of the never-ending release schedule of antivirus data files?
