I'm going to buy a X Box this week but I have a question that may seem stupid. I know the XBox has a hard drive but are you allowed to use it to store games and info on or is it for "system"use. My thinking is I could store my seasons in NCAA 2003 on the HD instead of a mem card. Is this true??

If I need a mem card I want to get one when I get the system.

Thankx.

All of your save games will automatically be stored on the hard drive. You can choose later to move to mem. card if you want. You can also burn songs from your cds to your hard drive and play that music in certain games. You only need a mem card if you want to transfer files (games, profiles) from your xbox to someone elses. Hope this helps.

Hey newbie, if it were for system use, that would be one GIGANTIC operating system. Yes, the hard drive is there for the system, but most importantly, for your games!! YOu have chosen wisely danielson!

Any game you play can be store on Xbox hard drive or memory unit. Great system. Online play once you order headset & mic for $49.99........................big fun! You're about to put the money on best system(XBOX) out there.

Man, I got my XBox this weekend (along with NCAA 2003) and this thing is freakin' awesome. I can't believe I waited this long to get one. Actually, I debated between the XBox and the PS2 for a long time before deciding on the XBox.

Thanks again for all the info. :)
