> On Tech TV there is an awsome commercial for Hitman 2.
> Pretty commical.

Yup it was quite cool and you've probably all read that it's been
banned.

According to Actiontrip.com:

An interesting twist on Friday news, we come with a follow-up report
on our recently premiered Hitman2 TV Spot . As part of our massive TV
campaign for Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, we had slated our original
creative to air across selected major cable networks, however, in an
interesting turn of events, numerous networks opted NOT to run the
spot as it was originally intended. VH-1, MTV, MTV 2, TNN, UPN, ABC
Sports, Comedy Central, Sci-fi, and USA all declined to air the
original spot! The following is some of the reasoning behind denial of
the commercial...

"Glorifies Violence"... "strong violence depicted "
"Over the top sexual content"
"the game looked a little too realistic and that people might not know
that it was just a game"

Well, that simply won't do. We can't allow rampant censorship about
such a fine game go unnoticed! So here it is, uncensored for your
viewing enjoyment at a modest 4.4MB is the original EIDOS Hitman
2:Silent Assassin TV spot.

But for you weak-stomach types, here is the watered down version that
you'll see on your TV screens in the coming days. Enjoy!

I think this is bullsh*t because if anyone had seen the European F**k
talking ads previewed on Fark.com about 2 weeks ago then these US ones
seem a bit lame and this story looks like complete PR hype ... like
Eidos can afford to advertise on all those channels anyway ...

Thanks for the links

I would love to see what most of them would of said at the company sending them the europeon ones to air.

I like the second one showing for the US better than the first one.

Although I don't see any reason why they wouldn't show the first one.

THats sucks, I saw the commercial last night.

i think cencorship is bulls4it. How could violence on TV actual change a person? If parents do there job than the child will know right from wrong.

F cencorship in the A

How Ironic JJax. You just Censored yourself "F cencorship in the A"

(yes...I know you have to, or it will be deleted)...Just pointing out the fun or irony.

back on topic...I think companies are wasting their time on censoring gaming commercials. There are ten times worst "images" on the evening news. Besides...I grew up seeing brutal things, and I didnt turn into a (complete) psycho!

OH MY GOD! Those two f**k talking commercials were the most intense, most fantastic commercials I've ever seen, especially the first one. I'm going to England, especially seeing how lame America is when it came to censoring the first 'this is your time to die' hitman2 commercial. It was the same commercial with just a cynical snappy tune, I didnt see the where the sexual content part of it was.

Also in England I'll get to see Acclaim's and even Eidos' amusing stunts.

Thanks for the f**k talking Hitman 2 links, Ayanami III. 5 stars.

Funny, the above sounds like most music videos played
on those channels.

Im not a big fan of censor ship, but playing those F**K Talking commercials in america might be a big no no.

England can get away with playing and producing commercials like the above because the public doesn't own guns!!! Their damn police don't even carry guns.

In america, as we all know, most of us own guns and sometimes when people do crap like that lady did in the second commercial, the thought does pass through hour heads, at least for a split second ;)

And networks understand that there are stupid, crazy people in the US that might... no might... at the moument, we have a sniper picking off random people in the DC area and in my home state of VA (11 shot, 9 dead). So airing content like above right now isn't a smart move for networks. They don't want to be blamed or responsible for airing such a commercial, later sued and loose it all. common sense really.

IT's the democrat's fault! They believe there are no perpetrators, only victims, it's all brainwashing EVIL government CRAP to soften us down and make us more easily controllable.
