With all the good news about XBL I can hardly play the box, with my Beta kit IN TRANSIT all I can think about is Live and getting DSL and finding someone with a credit card. Spilnter Cell is something that I need, but as far as $$ goes if I spend all this $$ just to get Live (DSL: $230, Beta kit $61.48, router $??) then I NEED Live games. (pre-ordered UC and MA- NHL 2k3 next pay check) So Live games have to be looked at over non-live games. This will change now that this info is coming out. If there is downloadable content for non-live games then I might get to tighten the belt some more (get a quarter instead of a half), Eat rice for a week or tow then I will be a Happy Man!

Ever since Ubi Soft opened up the official Splinter Cell Website, more than a few questions have been answered by Mathieu Ferland, Producer of Splinter Cell, in a thread called Producer’s Corner on the official forum. Today, as part of the latest barrage of Q&A, it was revealed that Splinter Cell will in fact have downloadable content via Xbox Live. It was also said that the content will announced within the coming weeks, suggesting that downloadable content could be available on the day the game’s released.

A Backup Hardrive Not in the Box?
With the number of games some people have, combined with music, and now coming downloadable content the possibilities of Xbox’s running into memory shortages is all to real in Microsoft’s mind. Well MS has a contingency plan when it comes to downloadable content at least. Assuming that you had to pay for the content your Xbox Live account tracks every single purchase you make on the service.
So even if you delete all those extra Splinter Cell episodes from your Hard Drive you will not have to pay fro them again if you decided to download them later on when you had more memory. Microsoft takes its Xbox Live user accounts very seriously. Backups for every account are made daily, and in case of a crash at one of the main servers all data centers are equipped with diesel generator backups capable of retaining all the information of the four worldwide centers combined!
