Q about DSL modems

I am trying to get my DSL working with both PC and xbox Live. I have a cable/DSL list from xbox.com. My Q: is there a work/not work list for just DSL modems. In the event that my DSL provider doen't have a router that works for Live (I have no extra $$ to buy one). Worst case, I was hopeing to at least play XBL with just my DSL modem. Thanx for your imput.

You could still do it, you'd just have to disconnect your computer from the net while you're playing Live.

The only downside for you is that you can't play Xbox Live when somebody else needs the computer.

That is a major downside but it isn't to bad to some people. Of course, I use a router so I am fine. Just hook it into your modem like the above poster said. Oh and, you thought the DSL providor could give you a router? Man, that's all up to you. You need to go and buy a router seperetaly in order to use it.
