The headset that comes with xbl kit is fantastic. It is just like the mic that you buy for your home or mobile phone, except it is more comortable and much more clearer. I would like to have an extra one for my house phone instead of switching the headset between my xbox and phone. Any one knows who actually makes the headsets. I am guessing platronics, but I dont see any with that shape and design.

I think it's plantronics but I think they make the live one only for xbox live.

Well it's nice. But be gentle with it.

Mine ended up breaking. The piece that clips onto the headband ended up breaking when the cord got tugged on after it was wrapped around the mic piece.

how are we going to replace these things if/when they break?

I would like to know as well. My headset is still working but I believe the connecter between the controller and headset is faulty. I can't hear anyone but people can hear me. I tried my headset with my cell-phone and it worked.

I hope they start selling them separately. They have no plans to do in the near future though. And that sucks.

maybe if you call 1-800-4my-xbox, they will send you a new one.

A regular cell phone head set works just as well. Matter of fact thats what I'm using. Not that my beta version broke, but this one fits my head better
