Oh yea, there is a MGS game coming out on the Xbox now.

After seeing and reading about Splinter Cell I kinda forgot about it. :D

BTW: I'd choose SC

I might buy Splinter Cell, so far, all of Redstorm Tom Clancy games have won some sort of recognition, and none of them sucked. Sooo SPLINTER CELL, then I'll rent MGS 2. Buttt I gotta lot of money for my BDAY today!!:D :D :D

Depends on what you like

Spinter cell:
-more gadgets then wepons
-More stelth
-very serious
-alot to do with the real time lighting (i.e. taking out lights puting on night vision goggles then takeing out targets)

MGS:S
-less stratagy
-almost a whole new game (so they say) *more playable charicters then the old one
-VR missions are awsome almost worh the price of a whole game IMHO
-i think the skate mode made it too

i think both will be in my collection also

1 question- Have you played MGS2 before?

If the answer is- No.

Then it's really simple. Go with a proven winner, that didn't sell millions of copies for nothing. This game is re-done. bigger, better, more variaty.

Splinter Cell will be good, but something tells me that metal gear solid will still be better.

*Go for both if you can :)

The upside to Splinter Cell is that they have made 11 additional levels. So you can add onto the already immense fun. Just thought you would like to know. They say you can dl extra levels from LIVE and the OXM disc.:)

WHAT OXM Australia has to say: Splinter Cell- 9.7
Halo-9.7

What I have to say:
*May Contain Spoilers

Metal Gear Solid 2:
After buying Metal Gear Solid 2 for PS2 on release day, I was excited to get home and start playing Solid Snake's new adventure. I had been told that it was very heavy on the story. That was an understatement. There is no fluidity in MGS2 because of the frequent cut scenes, therefore it is very hard to actually "get in the zone". It was also a great dissapointment to have another character in the place of Solid Snake.

Pros:
Great graphics for a PS2 game
PAL version come with "Making of" DVD
Engrossing story...

Cons:
...but too many cut scenes eventually ruin the experience
Solid Snake not playable until very end
Stupid question marks above guards heads
Too easy to get past most guards

Xbox Improvements:

VR missions will make an appearance
Solid Snake playable
Ability to turn guards into old ladies (Although I'm not sure that should be under Improvements...)

Splinter Cell:

Not much to say on the actual game from a reviewing perspective since I haven't played the full version though

Pros:
Tom Clancy!
Hundreds of Gadgets
Superb Graphics and lighting
Downloadable content from XBL

Cons:
It's not out yet :(

Verdict:
Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2): 6.8
Metal Gear Solid 2 (Xbox): 7.4
---------------------------
Splinter Cell(If it is well executed):9.5

Go with Splinter Cell. If you haven't played MGS2 yet, it is well worth a rent, but if you are looking to buy something than you should make Splinter Cell your first and only choice!

I just played the demo of Splinter Cell and all I can say is....OH MY FRIGGIN' GOD!!!!!

Kids, we are about to witness the gaming bar set to new heights. This game is unbelievable.

by the way, OXM gives it a 9.6 ....and from what I have seen, they may have understated it.
