Slow learner: Tiger Woods help

When putting, the caddie tells you to change the marker's location say, 3 feet short, 5 inches left, etc. Is there a precise way of making the change by that amount that I can't figure out, or are you just supposed to "eyeball" it and move the marker and hope it's the right spot? Also, in Outlaw Golf you can bring back up the path indicator showing where the ball will roll after you've made changes. In Tiger the original path indicator disappears. Is there a way to bring this back up?

Firstly there shouldnt be any roll indicator. You should have to just eyeball all the putts. Thats why I will never play a console golf game. They just arent realistic and Tiger's game falls into this category.
