I have a vga converter that only does hdtv. I had to get rid of hitman 2 due to no hdtv mode.
Does splinter cell do hdtv? Need to know before I buy.
Thanks

It outputs at 480p, which actually isn't a true HDTV resoltion but is referred to as one quite often. 1080i and 720p are TRUE HDTV resolutions. Anyways, to keep myself from confusing you the game wil work with your vga converter fine.

I thought all XBOX games had the capability to produce progressive-scan output. Is this not true?

Its true for almost all of them except a few, 007 comes to mind as one that slipped through the cracks without 480p capability. Other than that nearly all support 480p, however that is not a true hdtv spec.

I knew somewhere here would know what I meant. I couldnt keep my box hooked up to a tv when I have a perfectly good 21" trinitron with 5.1 sound system on my desk! (no fightin' with the kiddies for the tv, either!)

I will buy it today!!!:p

Add Hitman 2 and The Thing to the non 480p list.

I thought 480p was supposed to be the bare minimum as well. So much for quality control.

SC does not support HDTV look at the back of the box.

The HDTV logo on the back of the box has meant dittily squat in terms of how they define it.

So far it has meant:
widescreen support
480p
720p
widescreen and 480p

Of course they never tell you which one of those it means. They could take it as widescreen and 480p but then their game only supports 480p but not widescreen so they don't check that box for HDTV (which it isn't anyway).

So far I've seen 3 new release boxes with HDTV-480p unchecked when they actually do support 480p. Zero communication going around in the developer community and the people that label these boxes.

But as we already figured out, Splinter Cell does support 480p but it does not support 16x9.

Hey lynx did you use VB to make that Lynx-FX animated sig?

That's a tight animation
