Japanese xbox controller

hey i went into funcoland and saw 2 of the japanese xbox controllers then when i went to best buy they had a whole bin full of the japanese xbox controllers. whats up with this? its the same thing as the controller s. why do they need to sell it hear? and heres proof

It's the same controller, read what it say's on the Best Buy web page: This collector's edition features a special green jewel in the middle of the controller . The Japanese Xbox controllers have an all green jewel. The North America (rest of the world?) just has a smaller normal "X" and "Xbox" in it.


Why do they need to sell it here? Couldn't sell them in Japan I guess.

The japnese contoller also has see through, indented A, X, B, Y bottons.

I have a Japanese S-Type and an American S-type. Other than the slight cosmetic difference, there's no performance difference. They both respond and behave the same way.

Is the s-controller better/easier then the regular controller. i own to of the regular and have never used the s-controller. i dont know if i would like haveing the black and white buttons below the x y b a buttons.i never saw the need for the s-controller seeing has how my 8 year old sister could play xbox with the regular one.

It takes a couple of minutes to get used to the new button scheme, because I had used the regular controllers for so long. But I love the S-types. I'll never use a regular controller again.

there is no difference the controller s is just a bit smaller i see no need for the controller i can play fine with the regular controller

My local EB has them for $24.95 five dollars cheaper than that of the S-Type. I think I might pick one up, although I prefer the bulk buy, over the small dinky type...

I saw that controller also. I think I will just buy an S controller because it has a longer cord and I prefer the Xbox logo in the center.;)

I had the Japanese controller imported when the Xbox was released over in Japan due to my fears that Microsoft would not release it in the states. I like the grey look with the green jewel in the middle over the S controller.
