Splinter Cell Elevator isnt Powered but i need to get through it?

OK, this part in the CIA Headquarters. Im at the part where you first see a gun turrent for the first time in the game. I need to unlock the pic in the door behind it...done.....then i need o go in that elevator, but it sais it isnt powered? in my walkthrough it speaciffically sais i need to go through that elevator but i cant, can you people help me out????????

It will be powered later, go somewhere else first...umm..I dont recall exactly where though...

i have walked around and stuff for a while and it wont power up? can anyone else help me? if so, where do i go?

if you ask me after Christmas I'll definately be able to help...seems to me I didnt have any problems with that part...can't remember what I did though...

I found out what i did, i went strait from the place where the reporter guys are at...(across from the centrel server...) to the part where that elevator is at, i had to go back and go to the centrel server? WHOOOOOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
