aight ya'll.
i thought i'd start this thread in hopes of estbalishing some non official rules about playing on LIVE and ways to make it easier to navigate for all.
exmp.
we all know most games online menus and friends list might show you who's online..but not neccisarily what game thier playing..or how far along they are in it.
sega nfl2k3 imo still has the best menu's.
but as i said..not all game are as user freindly.
so lets get together and come up with ideas to make things easier for all..until the developers work out the bugs.
I will update this thread with ideas the a agreed upon by the majority.
my first idea...
I know its hard to always stop and check your friends list while playing a game to check your invites.
sometimes this can result in a death (UC, GR) or can be rude towards your opponent if u do it to frequently (SEGA SPORTS GAMES)
but what i propuse is..if u do recieve an invite...check it as soon as "safely" possible.
exmp..
i'm playing nfl2k3 and i send out a invite to rudedogg who's playing GR.
well..i shouldn't just send him an invite and jump into a game.
that would result in him leaving gr for NO reason.
but what would be helpful is if he doesn't want to play...he declines ASAP...that way i know not to wait for him.
or on the other handle..if i refresh my invite list and it shows that he's accepted...then i know to chill and be patient cuz he's on the way.
to some this is common knowledge...to others it isn't.
just throwing some stuff out guys.
let me know what u think and lets hear your ideas.

Good idea on this thread. Here's one of my biggest issues. When someone keeps inviting you while you're playing a game! You're playing and you get an invite, (let's say in GR, for UC). You decline the invite and go back to your game. Suddenly there is the invite option again! OK, so you go back and decline it again when you get a chance and go and continue playing GR. Suddenly a 3rd invite option shows up. This cycle continues throughout the game, you are going to get very ****ed off! I understand that sometimes it seems that the other person didn't get the invite, so I think a second invite is fine, but to send a 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th is getting a little more than cautious, it's annoying!
As for you inviting me to a game, did I do that to you once? I wouldn't doubt it, that's why I'm asking.:D

just using u as an example rude.
as for your suggestion..i totally agree.
i say 2...3 TOPS...anymore than that...and its overkill.

Good point Rude, and that's why I removed Borka from my friends list cuz I got 10 in a row
Anywho, a good idea to throw in here would be that if your in an NFL league game or such, please put yourself to show that you're offline. I can't stand playing someone and they keep saying that they have to check their list....just my $.02
A JJaX rule suggestion:
If you're in a private game with some buds and invites are out. If you've just started the map, so only 5 minutes have gone by and someone joins. Please quit out to the lobby instead of making someone sit there for 20 minutes. I know sometimes the host may miss seeing some one "Join". So people on the host team need to speak up.
I know plenty of times we just started but someone joins and i always say "Yo, so and so joined, quit out"

Yeah, I agree with this, if it's 10 minutes in and it's a 15 minute game, i say let them wait, but 5 or less, get out and bring them on.

i hate the fact that anyone at all can use XBox Live. I think there should be a screening process to keep the really stupid people off of there.

Its those who have a problem w/voice modulation, one guy will talk so low that you cant hear him and the next will have the mic so far down his throat and speak so load that my ear will ring.
Also those that are just saying dumb things, like the other day in UC this kid jumped in and stared yelling big foot, bigfoot bigfoot , ect...I could not kick him so I muted him and left bad feedback.

another small thing is replays,
in nhl2k3 in particular (havent played any other sports games on live yet)
when the other guy scores a goal, you should let them choose to either watch or cancel over the replay. usually you can just skip ahead on the stats and whatnot at a faceoff, but if its a goal, and its not yours, let the other dude either enjoy it, or just skip it if he chooses.
just a small one, but i noticed the dude do it on my first game online, and have adapted that into my routine, and think it just makes sense. and is the polite thing to do.

lol, I think I am back on your list right now.
See what happened is that I was playing MA, and I invited you. Then you invited me to play GR. The problem is that I don't own GR, so I cancelled your invited, and invited you to my game.
This happened several times.......
well, later that day we finally got to play MA, and Moto Gp (So it's all good)
*sry, I was confused......
